Guest casbri Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 what will you be flying over the channel widowhood or natural and why..
cemetary Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 What about the roundabout system, cant rule it out.
Guest anto Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 over the chanel i fly natural you cant beat a good natural hen on the water flying 2 big young
Guest Vic Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 For quite a few years now, I have raced the widowhood cocks right through to 500 mile. During this time, I have missed the beauty of racing long distance hens on the natural. So just for a refreshing change, I have decided to race my entire OB team on the natural system. I have some beautiful hens that haven't been touched since yb racing. With the introduction of the ETS system, it would be folly to seriously compete with the whizzbangers in the inland programme. I'm sure it will be a very interesting season, to say the least! Watch this Space! LOL.
pigeon pete57 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 we fly both cocks and hens on widowhood for all races up to bergerac 456 miles then we pair them for the classic
kirky Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 i will fly roundabout all the way, dont see why some pair when thay go over the water.
Guest shadow Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 all ways flew roundabout and the hens used to perform better than the cocks over the water on hard days :)
Guest Vic Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Perhaps some of you Jocks could tell me about Eddie Newcombes methods. Why were hens responsible for the majority of his brilliant winning? Did he race natural or what?
Roland Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 i will fly roundabout all the way, dont see why some pair when thay go over the water. Maybe you ought to ask. :-/ Maybe one doesn't realise that it is natural that excells at the distance... and moreso the hens. Now I wonder why that is! Yes even at the sprints now, natural are holding their own! I wnder why that is :-/
OLDYELLOW Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 i have to agree that hens are achieving more than cocks in results take the U.N.C last season 6 winners only 2 cocks and 4 hens , but who said because there hens they have to be natural hens ?
Guest strapper Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 i and all my club members fly natural barr one who tried roundabout in 2008,he,s going back to natural in 2009. doesnt stop us topping the fed on sprints...even being the most northerly in the fed. some great performances have been achieved on the natural system.

I wnder why that is :-/ i am only going by race results that i have done over recent years and roundabout hens have betten natural most times,
Guest casbri Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 i thank you all for your comments
greenlands Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 I fly natural full stop, from first to last race
Simeon Turner Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 We fly widowhood with both the cocks and hens right through the season from 73 - 527 Miles.
thunderboult Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 we start on roundabout and let them pair for the longest races, although i am considering leaving them seperate this season.
Guest youngzimmy Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 MYCHOICE WOULD BE NATURAL ITS LIKE THE LIGHT SYSTEM OR THE DARKNESS SYSTEM GIE IT THIS GIVE IT THAT WOO GIVES A F--K ABOOT THE DOO AS LONG AS YOU WIN AND GIT THE BLOODY MONEY IF THE DOOS COULD TALK I WONDER IF THEY WOULD HAVE AN OPINION ON ALL THE THINGS THAT GET DONE TO THEN AND ALL THE CRAP THAT GETS STUFFED INTO THEM ALL IN THE NAME OF SPORT OR IS IT MAKING THE OWNERS BANK BALLANCE FATTER I WONDER
thunderboult Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 MYCHOICE WOULD BE NATURAL ITS LIKE THE LIGHT SYSTEM OR THE DARKNESS SYSTEM GIE IT THIS GIVE IT THAT WOO GIVES A F--K ABOOT THE DOO AS LONG AS YOU WIN AND GIT THE BLOODY MONEY IF THE DOOS COULD TALK I WONDER IF THEY WOULD HAVE AN OPINION ON ALL THE THINGS THAT GET DONE TO THEN AND ALL THE CRAP THAT GETS STUFFED INTO THEM ALL IN THE NAME OF SPORT OR IS IT MAKING THE OWNERS BANK BALLANCE FATTER I WONDER hi youngzimmy, i fly em seperated as old birds, i would have thought that's less taxing on the birds as they're not having to lay or raise young while they're racing. i don't give any antibiotics, young birds are flown natural and only sent when in good feather and it costs me a lot more to fly/feed than what i win. i'm competative racing them and always have their best interests in mind.
Guest Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 we start on roundabout and let them pair for the longest races, although i am considering leaving them seperate this season. I think when you pair them for the longer ones, the cocks lose their sparkle and that's why you see more hens winning.
Guest youngzimmy Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 I AGREE WITH YOU BUDDY THUNDERBOULT
jimmy white Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Perhaps some of you Jocks could tell me about Eddie Newcombes methods. Why were hens responsible for the majority of his brilliant winning? Did he race natural or what? edddie raced natural,, with both many winning hens and cocks,, i have won both on natural and widowhood at the 5 to over 600 mile races , but a good natural hen , on a hard race, will take a bit of beating [but, as usual, with pigeons," theres many ways to skin a cat" ] ;D
Roland Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 i am only going by race results that i have done over recent years and roundabout hens have betten natural most times, Sorry was going via the bigger Picture. Seem more Natural winning in my three clubs too now. Some fly half season W/H then swith. Oldyellow was going on National results -especially the mid - distance, and see that Natural are dominate. Futher, the hen's achieving about twice as much again the sucess.
