OLDYELLOW Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 just to clear up i think its now a 2 bird nom so 2 cocks 2 hens or 1 of each or just one up to the flyer and his pocket but best velocity submited from the race above 500 mile if my counting right thats 6 in
Guest Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Ok I'm in whatever ....... but I would prefer it to be not best velocity. I would prefer it to be judged on best performance. If you want a distance person then I would go along with Michael Burden to judge it. I only have one race I can compete in at 500 mile and that's Tarbes 556, the next race to 500 is 345 mile
OLDYELLOW Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 best velocity out of the two birds sent , as wind route ectra would have to be taken in to consideration , velocity at 500 + miles is not a good indication of the race so all these factors would need to be taken into consideration
hotrod Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 how can anyone say highest vel out of 500 miles , a blow home from that race is all you need , and the prize is yours, its a totally diferent race when the winds on their nose's, a more fairer race in my opinion
OLDYELLOW Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 no highest velocity of two birds entered put forward , you cant possibly base any winner on velocity alone as i have said in my previous post as route wind come into play at 500 + miles
OLDYELLOW Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 Albear Kirky Vic Kev'd OldYellow member in so far

Guest Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Cumbria Combine, furthest race to my loft Messaic 481ml,so most fanciers in Cumbria are out.Good luck in your venture .Lindsay C When there is no further race for fanciers, could an exception be made (but there must be no other race available under 600 mile.) I know it starts to dilute a bit but this is for fun and it would be good to make it as inclusive as possible.
OLDYELLOW Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 well 2 fanciers have taken an intrest one flys 481 other 482 so im happy to drop the distance to 480 mile so we can get more on board and call it the Pigeon Basics Distance Challenge , but has to be within 480 miles to no more than 600 if everyone agrees then its not excluding those who cant get any further miles than stated
