hotrod Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 i dont see the point in going west of the pennines to appleby then the following week an open race from wakefield the other side of the pennines never mind the 70mile jump, crazy if you ask me i can see midland going down hill fast.
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Your about 10 years to late with this obsevation hotrod Your spot on mate
Guest bigda Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 i think appleby is a bad race point as it has a lot of moorland, and a big percentage of peregrines there, i have passed it Manny times, and always managed to see three or four juking about, and the rspb, feed the red kites, not far from there, which is not natural to nature but seem to think its ok, to do so. :-/ :-/
hotrod Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Your about 10 years to late with this obsevation hotrod Your spot on mateare you meaning midland going downhill.?
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Yes better put as downeast, but yes have all ways said that the decisions they make are their's to make but just wonder how far they can go with this before calling it a day, which would be a great pity. Where you from Hotrod Cheers Rab Smith

frank-123 Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 guess the majority that voted for it so they must want to race that programme as a lanarkshire fed member it seems rather stupid after the racing they have had over the last few seasons but hopefully i am wrong this season because the midland fed members need a break
ALF Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Hi Have to agree jumping y/bs from Appleby to Wakefield is not giving the birds a chance If there is enough likewise members you will need a third of the membership and force your fed to reconsider it may still get beaten but if you dont try you will never know Cheers Homer 49 A similar thing is happening in our fed re..jumping our y/b's from Hexham to Wetherby
HOMER49 Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 A similar thing is happening in our fed re..jumping our y/b's from Hexham to Wetherby Hi Alf Both these racepoints are east of the peninnes and Wetherby is just south of Scotch Corner Appleby on the other hand is 17 Miles east of Penrith and some 40 miles west of Hexham Cheers Homer 49

HOMER49 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I know where all the racepoints are Homer i was pointing out the jump that the y/b's will have... Hi Alf I was in favor of Catterick between but it did not carry Allan have long said that we the members go to race programs meetings and vote on race points that we haven't a clue about The controller and convoyer must be involved in this decision Cheers Homer 49
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Hi Alf I was in favor of Catterick between but it did not carry Allan have long said that we the members go to race programs meetings and vote on race points that we haven't a clue about The controller and convoyer must be involved in this decision Cheers Homer 49 That's the problem with voting for one race at a time you don't always get the end product in what the members want and which is in the benefit of the pigeons. Perhaps there should be a choice of set programs that the members can then choose which one is best for the pigeons and also that accommodates the members that wish a 150 miles race for there young birds and those that dont. cheers Gareth
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Gareth, This goes back to the lack of leadership and direction, there should be at least three proposed race programs put to the members. The short races are of benifit however i would argue you need to put the miles on YB In order to steady them up if you know what i mean. The Midland Fed been macking a lot of bad decisions for years now,it gives me no satisfation to say so. Happy days Rab
hotrod Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 the best way to do this is that you have to put your proposed race program into the secretary by a certain date not individual races , race programs from 1st to last ,then the members can vote on what is the best one submitted , voting on separate races is murder and totally wrong imo.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Would have to agree with you lads, perhaps if even the officials were to have 3 or 4 different options in black and white.
