Roland Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Just keep them seperate and no youngsters... Some will put them together around beginning of June or so on a naturual basis. Many reckon they are at the best celibet. Reason of course not most popular is that many want, need s a round of younsters early on for their y/b racing. If a stock bird section is set up, or like me don't bother to race y/bs then it must be good. the June - August youngster can be lightly tossed (Even Raced if need be) and just a one perhap two 100 milers (150) next old bird season and the loft will be at it's best with them 18 months down the line. ure a few will be lost, of the top, or in the races, but then again so are a lot when bred in March - or even January. Read an article in this this rags about a flyer saying that that is the best way forward with the youngsters. Bred in the Purple and Raced in the Purple.

chichichi Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 message me your email and I'll send something for you to read,, celibate hens we fly,, tried the cocks and topped the fed with them but they are very hard to control.. they go bonkers,, the hens on the other hand are sooo easy to do.. they recover so quick and fly for fun all day.. but yearling cocks are very good .. best of luck ant
Guest asha Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Hi Mark. Are you looking for the true monistic celibacy system, where the racebirds are never given the opportunity throughout their racing lives to pair.?If so you need a stockloft to produce your race birds, conveyor belt stlye. The other types which are many and varied, aka==chichi and terry`s,are basically the sliding door method(ybs) the belgiums have raced for well over50 years . Just repeat as oldbirds . This is where darkening comes into play with the old hens.
OLDYELLOW Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 i think your refering to the Belgium koytee system although the results are great the birds arent very sociable
