Is there any one on the forum that can give my stb a service  ready for next year have been told by my sec it lost a  minuite on my last race.

can,t your clock setter do something about it if you were my member i would be fixing it for you,, get him to turn the advance screw a little bit and keep an eye on it to see how its running some of them just need a little turn ,  inconsiderate a ---hole if he does,nt

thanks mate he said best to send it of and get it over hauled my club isnt the best

Thats all very well damian do you no what it cost to get it overhauled you would be cheaper buying a new clock mate, or try buying another stb on here its only a 5 minute job to regulate the clock is it a right old one , what colour of case is it in , :silver, red ,blue

is it quartz or wind up better giving some info on it

hi mate its silver and a quartz i think i bought it from the sec before the young bird season and he said it was only 8 months old

it should'nt need a service if its only 8 months old.

i thought that but was prob sold a dodgy one as i knew no better will just have to get another one thanks guys

Try a new battery before even thinking about a service.

 

Also do a 24 hr set, run and check strike times with TIM (speaking clock) dial 123 from a landline. People have been known to mis-read the print out. If you can't do it yourself try and find someone who can before wasting any money on a problem that may not be there.

Why worry anyway if it as lost a minute,depending on how long the clock was running on your last race I would say that it is well within the limits,it would be good to have the clock running as near correct as possible each race but if you know that its running 1 minute slow each week I would leave it alone.

any clock setter worth his salt should sort it and if only 8 months old does not need a service I suspect it could be older than 8 months as the latestest models are red

yes i know, the reply was to the age of the silver one, and being replaced with the red. Ie the red has been out fo5r a while. ;)

was asking what kind of clock in general george did,nt mention the kind he had

now we know, you did get the silver quartz but a long time ago so its not 8 mths old

really sharp you are better be on the ball to-morrow with the pies about 2-00
