HOMER49 Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 again ian your are worried about the have nots, who in turn are going to close your club anyway, instead of getting it right at the start, go to a travel firm and ask him who has hundreds of people going to France, he will tell you the price you go or you dont, the same if you want to go to london he has a price you dont keep it the same price for both :o :-/ Hi Can get a flight to Alicante (thats in spain danny) cheaper than a taxi from Glasgow to Carluke Cheers Homer 49

Guest bigda Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 sorry Stuart do you see our dilemma, it no a easy one to get out of, but we will have to make a start the committee has been on the case for 3-5 years but nothing no word or report, Alf can"t under stand why all the secrecy, he has asked all the questions, but again nothing coming from the men in charge, do you think we are getting the run around Stuart ??)
REDROCKET Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 The commitee are doing a fine job there, thev'e got another3/5 year out they old baskets but your right youngzimmy. The old baskets are recked and not worth fixing.infact i'll be surprised if there's enough in one peice for this years young bird racing cos the guy that fix's them's been in hospital for the last 3 month and still there.??????????????
hotrod Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 sorry bigda i couldnt comment on something i know nothing about and would be very unfair on th ones on th commitee, the only one thing i would ask is , if you get one new transporter WHO OR WHAT CLUB'S GET TO USE IT FIRST , IF YOU NEED 3 transporters then 2/3rds of the fed would still be in old style baskets for maybe 4/5 races maybe more until you can send just one transporter down the road.
Guest bigda Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 well i feel the rot has to stop now, and we get the ship on course for the future, the members have had it to good for a long time with cheap birdage, to me this is false economy, the situation calls for a firm grasp of economics , £1 per bird for sprint races £2. 50 for distance, that would just about get us up and running to the level we should be at in this day and age, you might all say this is harsh, but the fact of the matter is this, failure to do so just now will only lead to the demise of pigeon racing, as it has shown that because it is so cheap the fanciers do not take the pigeon sport serious enough to make it work, and get in to a rut, and leave it all to someone else to run. if i was in charge and i hope to be in the near future, i will not put up with the cloth cap attitudes, from outsiders, i will let them all know this is a responsible sport who give and provide aid to the needy among the community, the men who make a living from pigeon fancier will and should be at the fore front with sponsorships, instead of taking all the time, as i said any thing pigeon should be nailed down by the governing bodies in the interest of all fanciers, how this got out of the control of the governing bodies, in this day is a mystery to me it would not happen in any other sport or hobby he who runs it calls the tune in my eyes as feeding should be only available through feds and medications the same all our own, spending power and buying, that's the way we have to go, then when we have control of our own future. all feds should be big enough to buy in grain at discounted price ans sell it to the fancier at a reasonable cost no need for the middle man .
