magpie Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Gorgeous sunny day down here in Dorset - but still a bit of a nip in the air so we won't be getting the training basket out just yet. Learned from years of experience that it doesn't pay to be too impatient if you want to do well in the races that really matter. Just letting the birds enjoy the sunshine with an open loft.
OLDYELLOW Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 welcome to Pigeon Basics Magpie , your quite right no sence in knocking birds back in poor weather its a long season

Pompey Mick Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Portsmouth, weathers finally cleared into blue skies after another murky start. Managed to get a first toss in this morning for the widowhood cocks, still a chill in the air though. Here's a website for views across the Solent from the IOW to Southern Hampshire. You need to load up firts and it takes a bit of time but once you've done that it loads straight away afterwards. http://www.cowesharbourweather.com/webcam.aspx

Guest IB Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Took some hens 20 miles east this morning, didn't go as far as planned as there was a bank of cloud / mist off the river spread across Edinburgh City and beyond. Clear blue sky but still took them an hour. I was going back tonight with some cocks, but there's a wind got up, it's now freezing cold, my sweatshirt's back on again!
