sapper756 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 At the striking off at clocks, from 15 ets clocks, 2 failed to record the times of birds, they recorded the birds arrival, but no times, both flyers said this was evident, as the base station was showing, arrivals but no times, any ideas?
JADE Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 was the clock put in the base station before the birds arrived
Delboy Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 my ets missed my first LSC pigeon and one of my Almond valley pigeons. Gutted, to say the least
frank-123 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 always check with an ets ring before your birds arrive my cable had a small cut on it last year it never timed a bird even although it said connection was ok sapper not got a clue about your question
sapper756 Posted April 25, 2009 Author Report Posted April 25, 2009 was the clock put in the base station before the birds arrived led to believe it was, as it registered the birds arrival, but no time against them :-/
Jeremy Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Did the base show ring numbers and times but when stuck off at the club did not print times but just ring numbers & did it show an error code on the print out?
sapper756 Posted April 25, 2009 Author Report Posted April 25, 2009 Did the base show ring numbers and times but when stuck off at the club did not print times but just ring numbers & did it show an error code on the print out? no m8, according to the members, the base station only showed ring numbers, no times, so when struck off and printed, the same result, birds only, the time colubm empty
Jeremy Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 When they go back home and drop the pocket clock in base it will come up with the clockings from the race until they cancel it out for the next training toss if that does not happen they must of dropped the clock in just as the birds arrived may of caught them out the speed? Next week they should drop the clock in a good time before birds arrive once its uploaded the race data turn power off and then let it reload again this should sort out any problems.. Also did they race last week and had the new update?

Jeremy Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 I see well the new update would have loaded into the base clock today when it was dropped in this does take a few minutes its always a good idea once it uploaded fully to turn off the power wait a minute then turn it back on so it reloads in a normal way. Trust me i have my share of problems with ETS sytems doing a one loft young bird & Yearling race and we have over come these with trail and error..
sapper756 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 Can anyone pm me Dougie Balds email address please?
hotrod Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 its happened in renfrewshire twice in two weeks with unicon systems something to do with updates wiping birds from system or something( according to mr bald) , my good friend willie gass of inchinnan was no timer last week as no birds recorded times and it also happened to my good friend frank lawrie of johnstone ,but he was lucky it happened at marking and he got his birds rubbered ,im afraid i'll stick to my T3 clock to many computer errors with these systems ,you/they are all lucky it was'nt a national race or combine race with a lot of money involved
pjc Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 i can't understand why when using systems for the first time they don't rubber aswell or have a club trainer race the week before first fed race to iron out these problems!

hotrod Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 i can't understand why when using systems for the first time they don't rubber aswell or have a club trainer race the week before first fed race to iron out these problems! most of these systems were used last year and the year before ,it was only when the new update went in it scrambled the lot . soft ware problem i think?
pjc Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 so whose responsible if software has caused corruption?
sapper756 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 Can anyone pm me Dougie Balds email address please? Got it, have sent him an email
Pompey Mick Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Were the loft clocks updated before the race was marked, Unikon emphasize that members must update their bases before an official race.
sapper756 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 Were the loft clocks updated before the race was marked, Unikon emphasize that members must update their bases before an official race. YES, all club clocks were updated 2 weeks prior to first race :-/
mic Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 i posted a thread about unikon rings not recording, weeks ago, before racing, only found out while testing the system
robbie Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 this happened twice last year in our club, they replaced the pocket clock, but i am still awaiting a definitive answer from Ray Knight, whom i spoke to at Blackpool and evn he didnt know what was wrong with it????
Guest IB Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 There does seem to be a glitch in the current Unikon update. On 26/2/09 I'd 8 new rings assigned. (Software Version 2.86/1.5) I put my pocket clock in the loft clock, updated & tested all of them over pad and they worked OK. My pocket clock was then called in for upgrade Version 3.0/1.5. I put my pocket clock in the loft clock, updated same day. My pocket clock was then called back for further Synchronisation, according to Club master, it hadn't been done. But had. At my first race on 17/4/09 had no problems at marking, and that was when I got my first printed assignment list, showing all my rings. Race closed 18/4/09 no problems. Only when training cocks on night of 18/4/09 that I noted one not registering. Same one failed to register Sunday training on night of 19/4/09. So put bird through trap - nothing. Took pocket clock out put bird back thro - loft clock registered an arrival; put pocket clock in - no rings arrived. Phoned Club secy who advised speak to Deister. Spoke to Deister Mon 19/4/09, was told if loft clock registers but pocket clcok doesn't, then ring not assigned. Only then had a look at last assignment list 17/4/09, ring shown not assigned, yet appears on previous list 26/2/09 as assigned. Got it reassigned 23/4/09. Marking 24/4/09. Another ring 'dead'. Still to check that as he is one my late arrivals home today. Training last night - 6 rings have failed to register.
