budgie Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Just back from the Newmains marking station under 260 Ypres/21 Andrezal which is very disappointing to say the least considering 107 are away from the Newmains Club alone. After last week, returns, not really surprized as this will be the last race of the season for many. :(How many are away from your club/area.

budgie Posted July 1, 2009 Author Report Posted July 1, 2009 where have all the 500 milers gone ? There are to many National Races and not enough pigeons to go around. We should have 1 Inland,Alencon.Tours and Falaise as it is and with the Birdage we are getting they are meaningless and hold no credit.
ALF Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I think the reason we in Lanarkshire are'nt sending many to these SNFC races is a lot of people have lost a lot of doos since we hit Wakefield :(
Chris Little Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Rough estimate from the South is approx 90 Ypres and 50 Andrezel In adding up the previous posts not a great entry..... quite shocking infact, we as a nation are supposed to be the benchmarkers for distance racing in the UK, no chance

Cannot understand this obsession with birdage, look at two of the most prestige clubs in the uk being the BICC and the BBC and you will not see mass birdage. This sort of long distance racing is about competing against specialist long distance fanciers,Personally if birdage was the most important thing to me i would concentrate on federation racing where you will find this large birdage.

Sad state for pigeon racing.

slim45 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 the weather looks bad for the weekend whats the chance of a race

budgie Posted July 1, 2009 Author Report Posted July 1, 2009 the weather looks bad for the weekend whats the chance of a race Atmospherics will play Havoc this weekend ( as they did last weekend) with Heavy Showers Lighting and Thunder Storms and i dont think we will get a race before Monday. Its a controllers Nightmare and we will have to give them all the support and assistance we can.

There are no 3 or 4 day birds on the Reims result mate,as the race would have finished by then. And the later birds are due to horrendous weather conditions not small convoys.

I agree with Alec ,but what is the problem are we now keeping to many middle distance pigeons.
