Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Would like to thank the Up North Combine who will be collecting Lanarkshire strays this due to the disastrous race that our members encountered last Saturday from Wetherby this will be done until the end of the season and is being done by the UNC after being told about the plight of the Lanarkshire members after losing 4000 from 5000 sent. All we ask is Is for all UNC fanciers that have not only Lanarkshire pigeons but all Scottish pigeons to please take them to there local club this week at basketting as these pigeons will be taken to the UNC stray were they will be collected by Lanarkshire on the Saturday or Sunday and brought back to the Scottish fanciers. Would like to personally thank Pam Grange and the officials for helping the Lanarkshire and Scottish Fanciers out. Well done

Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 this is what the sport needs to help each other out like this and stop all the bikering and selfishness by making fanciers pay carriage or money from the stray centres to get birds back. I am sure if we all done what the 1st post on this thread says it would balance out and save us all money. Think about it Guys
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 how did you arrive at this figure Gareth Spoke to many fanciers in Lanarkshire, perhaps i should have put approx.
Fair Play Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 The unfortunate thing is a lot of Scottish fanciers fly with GB rings and I would respectfully ask if they could check any strange GB birds in their lofts, myself I have lost 20 in the last three races excluding Catterick (St Boswells,Otterburn & Otterburn) Many Thanks Tom
swilcox Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Well done lads a stirling effort that will bring two diferent sections of our sport closer together

JAS Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Well done Gareth and to every one involved in getting the birds back. This should have happened long ago and all transporters should be taking the English & Welsh birds back down the road. The feds up here could take it in turn to call in at UNC stray centre and bring the birds up the road.

Mr Yorkie Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 The Yorkshire North Road Fed can help with getting birds up to Dunbar this weekend; if any UNC fanciers can get pigeons to Thirsk for Friday night they can have lift up on our transporter.
Guest stevie-b Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 brillant to see fanciers pull together its at times like these it makes u realise how good some people are in the sport well done to all

Fair Play Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 All my birds (old & young) carry leg rings with tel. no.I lost 20 in a loft fly-away when let out for the first time - never had one reported. Thanks for that Gareth

During the 90's Eggy used to call in to the NEHU stray centre when he worked down in the Newcastle area and bring birds up the road but at the time none of the Transporters would call in to collect them!
