Guest Mav Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Hello Everyone. Just saying hello. I have only been part of your club for around a month and have not got involved in the forums yet and have just been reading what everyone else is writing about. You really seem like a friendly lot which i think is great, One big happy family with the same interest. I am a young 49 year old living in South Lincolnshire and like to be helpful, So if there's anything i can help out with down here in this area please just ask. I have always been a bird lover of many different types from garden birds through to Pigeons but never got into racing Pigeons but my Grandad was a very well known fancier in the 50 / 60`s in Spalding. Around a year a go i purchased a small, 2 pair dovecote and enjoyed them being part of my garden, So i purchased a larger dovecote build by a maker close to me and will be going to Dereham Saturday to collect some new blood Doves. Hope that being a dove lover makes me welcome as i am not sure if that's what your club is for even, But i am learning all the time by reading your posts about loft, homing and diseases. I will give my birds the very best care that i can in return for the enjoyment they give to me. Please don't bite my head of as i am willing to learn. Many thanks and a happy new year to you all, Here's to 2010. Mav, (Mick)

Thanks Bob, If may call you that. I find with the forums that i must use it like a book first and look for the answers as they may be out there already, i just need to look for them. This way i will also find the answers to the questions i have not thought of yet. Only problem i have a the moment is a natural one, Cats!. I owe it to my birds to protect them as much as i possibly can, and i will. Hope to meet you one day. Mav.

A pigeon is a pigeon whether it is a racer, tumbler, roller or just a pretty face (sometimes plug ugly face) so you are in the right company here and will get plenty advice from some very knowledgeable fanciers. You'll learn a lot more too, and not just about the doos. He He He! Have fun.
