do you help out in your club

do you have people that never help at all

would your club be a better club if all members took a turn in doing something

do you think members would learn anything if they did help out

good group of lads up the club all get to gether with basketing all help each other out setting clock and all help each other out takeing empty crates of transporter and load crated with birds back in also good friendly banter afterwards when we all have a pint or view usually wip a black out road but i never seem to win oat some times the lads have there son, daughters charity raffle have a go on that basically good group of lads that enjoy there birds and chatting with friends they all say best of look to everyone then they go home ready for the birds to come back next morning.

We all muck in, a couple only turn up when they feel like it where as other help wether they send or not.

I always take my turn and help with the basketing with one exception. One guy, who is retired and home all day, comes to the Club late every week and refuses to use ETS in spite of the fact he was given one to use and a fist full of rings. He never pools his birds and never stops complaining about the fact that he wants to fly north in a club that flies south east.

We can not pass a rule forcing him to come earlier because we have quite a few younger men who work and can not help being a bit late some times. These young men are the life and soul of the Club and we would not want to do anything to put pressure on them. So week after week this fella comes late and demands to use his STB.

There is no way on this earth that I would lift a finger to help him get his birds through. The Old Skinflint.

Put them on a Rota so everyone has to take their turn.

If they can't for some reason make it on their night, they can SWAP with the ones who are down the WEEK BEFORE.

When president I once went into the bar  - where the usual mobbs were battling to tell the best lies and do nowt - and got myself a drink. The usual workers were with me and we were asked if 'all was done, and what time striking off' etc. I replied, 'Well ours are, and if yourn aren't withing the next quater of an hour we will be going with out them'! Took 5 minutes for the coin to drop, but they did it ... Then the ones that never shut up talking whether your marling or what. So I said simply, 'If you spent a quarter of your energy helping to get the birds through as spouting rubbish, we could all be finished and have a drink in our hands'! I was voted of the committee via them lol. Likewise when I kicked his gobby missis out of our AGM meeting! Laying the law to this that and the other was she, then told ME  - lol - to put her copy of HER minutes down and get my own COPY! ....' I open the door and asked if she was walking out under her' own steam, or did she need my boot to help her out#!  I also told him a few home truths, and that she had no right to even be there as she wasn't even a member. They both left - with the ugly gobby daughter and threathen to resigned. I walked out after them and caame back with it in writing lol. Came back 2 years later. Told him a few same own truth about him still rabbiting and doing nowt ...  he fortunately has left again.

Hi Gooner, they use to have the same situation with clocks on our club so we strike them off when all birds are basketed ,being all T3's we don't set them on Fridays they are set the previous Saturday after rubbers have been remove, saving time and seals.

I'd say it was a small group of people that do most of the work in my club. I used to help out with the baskets, but day changed from Sundays when I'm off with plenty time to do it, to Mondays at a set time and have bother getting down after work.
