Maybe so and if anything that is an error on my part - Not something that needed blowing out of proportion as it has been - Any questions have been anwsered on any subject regarding this forum but when they are spat out like this one in my view its out of order.

 

If anyone feels the mods dont have the right to such a trivial thing as this, when they give so much of there time then shame on the member.

 

Not scratching backs etc - We need the mods on this site more than they need the admin - Hence why i paid for my own Gold Membership.

 

Im sorry if members dont approve of this but it is how it is and if it bothers that much then feel free not to become a Gold Member as seems to me the problems are coming from those who are not and never were going to be a Gold Member.

 

Why dont you cut out all the preferential treatment, do away with gold membership and charge everybody that sell a commision % like any auction. All above board, nothing to hide that way the site gets return for everybody advertising and everybody knows where they stand. Better that than creating and old boys club.

as  a gold member once again ill state im happy to pay for selling on here....as a mod well i wouldnt want that job...because some of the sh1 te they get isnt what i would not respond too.

im a sec and have been for 5years and i know what cr ap i get..so i can only guess that some will take liberties and try to provoke mods.

now i aint pointing out anyone ,but stating this in general...considering the mods do the job for nowt...then i feel a bonus for 12months work at £25 is a pitence.

ill continue to pay my £25   if i intend selling.

 

one thing i will say..although i have over stepped the mark on occasions i dont think the site would be as poular if left to run without them.

if i feel a point i need to make to a mod i will make it...but i know i wouldnt want the job.

the % for selling was the norm but for a long time lots were just coming on and selling and then you heard no more from them, we are trying to sort this out, and I think the 2 options going are fair and reasonable, and if the owners of the site get members to help them moderate it and give them a small reward, surely thats just thanking them for their work,

I would like to personally invite you now to become a Moderator on this site - For the work involved this site gets a great deal from the mods - Hours & effort - £25 a year!!!

 

How many of your staff would give say 25 hours a week + for under 50p a week. None

 

Feel free to come onboard.

 

As for the charging members on site - Have you seen any Admin or mods mention it - No because it will never ever happen and we would never try it.

Thanks for the invite but I have to decline your offer to  be a moderator because I personally have no interest in it. I think you have made a serious error in judgement in this case and it would be easier to admit you are wrong than to defend a poor decision. If the mods want to sell make them pay the fee. If you want to pay them pay them. I have no problem with that what so ever. I do however have a problem with under-handed practices under-taken by some who would preach they are whiter than white and only moderate for their own gain. This reeks of MP's expenses in my view.

 

You mention my staff ( which has SFA to do with this by the way) , what I wouldnt do is offer them a wage and then tell them they could help themselves to company property to top up their wages to make the reward fit the job they did.

I agree 100% with this. I am all for the moderators being paid but no back-handers. The guys who just come on to sell well that is fair enough as well. They will contribute little anyway and £25 is nothing charge them a commission and you can do so on a sliding scale so the big earners pays more than the guy who sells half a dozen latebreds to cover corn bills.

 

Just be upfront about it.
