BLACK W F Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 this used to be a common practice with yearling cks but strays are usually trouble
grdkeith Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 this used to be a common practice with yearling cks but strays are usually trouble usually an improvement to the stock loft !!
BLACK W F Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 you must have a few then as your speaking from experence
Chris Little Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Strays are certainly not welcome in our lofts, they bring trouble. Any that do get through are removed at once and placed in widowhood hen boxes, water replenished and floor re-cleaned
p charlton Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 i got a nice houben hen in of brain green that breed 9 first prize winners in 3 years one hen won 6 young bird races in a row a cock won 7 1st in two years for my mate
chickadee Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 What I usually do with strays is keep them housed in a cage that is big enough to house an indoor rabbit, and keep it in a seperate hut untill I find out where the owner of the bird lives then it goes home to its own loft, (unless the owner doesn't want it back). ;D
bombersbullets Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 usually an improvement to the stock loft !! ;D ;D ;D very funny i like that!!

Novice Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 You will never see a virus under a microscope. I got one in 2 years ago and when I reported it the guy was completely taken aback. He told me his birds were really ill and advised to remove it from the loft immediately. Shortly after that I lost 65 youngsters with PMV.
