Boddy & Ridewood, loft vaccum cleaners

Was wondering if anyone has had any problems with Boddy & Ridewood when ordering Lofy vaccum cleaners. The reason I ask is that a fellow club member of mine ordered and paid for one of these vaccums 7 months ago :-/ and has still not received it. He has made countless phone calls to Boddy & Ridewood and has been fobbed off with excuses like "there's nobody hear to talk to you" or the vaccums will be delivered next week, next month or whenever.. He even confronted Mark Ridewood about the situation at Blackpool show and was assured he would have his vaccum in a couple of weeks and today he got a letter from them saying they would be in at the end of the month so he phoned them and told them to forget it and asked for his money back.. :-/ :-/

 

Anyone had anything similar happen to them??

be plenty of similar stories about this company im afraid , they used to be very reliable , but now there very poorly stocked and i doubt they'll be about if they keep treating customers like they do

i would expect about 50 replies stating similar . personally wouldnt order from them , unless they had the goods on a stand at a show.     andy.

i ive had problems ordering stuff off them if i buy anythink from them now always wait to there at the shows ie telford,doncaster,blackpool so i no i be getting my items im after straight away only shops i use now when im after stuff is murray and mills and taylor choice cant folt them as soon as i order a few days later i get my order through the post

yes nothing but bad things ive got to say about them. I hope they go bump. I no its not very nice, but then again niether are they

hope he does get his money back he will get one just as good from argos for £40 . i wander how long it will take them to give him the money back if he gets it at all  :-/

Dont waste your money on the body and ridewood one's they are no better than the pet ones for sale on ebay that I bought, just as much power can't clog and are half the price.

Iwould not use them again, ordered some stuff in early 2009, took 7 weeks to arrive i had bought the stuff elswhere by then. So have never used since.

if your'e looking for a hoover, would suggest the one called " Henry ".  Had mine for years and in the moult, it's my best friend.  Clears dry droppings as well.  Well worth the £99 I paid.  I suppose you could get one virtually given from a boot fair.

The thing I would say about Boddy and Ridewood is that their after sales are bismal.  You have to constantly be on at them and that shouldn't be.

B & R are a waste of space and time, demand your money back and get yourself a good wet & dry vac it'll be just as good and you can get it cheaper!

Maybe their problem was when they went down the 'Everything for Pets' route, and got too big and didn't have the business infrastructure to cope. I have talked to a couple of people in B & R and they will intimate how things are. I was a loyal customer for years, but now am very, very reluctant to buy from them at all. It's a pity, Bill Boddy wouldn't be impressed at the way things are now , I'm sure.

threaten them with small claims court if money not received within 7 days and they'll pay!

All these people they owe money to should be constantly on at them and get it back before they go bump
