Guest vander mungo Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 can SCOTTISH HOMING UNION dictate to me where i purchase my ets rings is there a rulling in there constitution or not ,or do i risk the chance of losing a race if i dont buy there rings REGUARDLESS of how much cheaper they are elesware :-/
Novice Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Best ask the SHU. My personal opinion would be that all chipped rings should be sold through a recognised union and registered against that fancier. However I would have expected their priced to be comdeditive as they represent the fancier and should be actively trying to keep costs down.
Guest IB Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Under 'Rules & Procedures for ETS' :- Procedure 15 ~ only ETS rings purchased from SHU can be used with Electronic Timing Systems. We buy them through the club, you order the number you want, just like ID rings.

ALF Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 SHU made approx £4k profit in selling ETS rings last year so if they have put them up and not the manufacturer they have got a cheek!!!
Guest vander mungo Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 to novice, SHU dont have the manpower to do this each ring has a code no. and would have to be swiped to get it to registar it to the buyer thats why they sell them as order ibulk to clubs only your club will know what meb, the ring belongs to SHU wont have a clue .thats why this rule if not removed yet ,will have to be. bit of more than they can chew.
nogin Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 SHU made approx £4k profit in selling ETS rings last year so if they have put them up and not the manufacturer they have got a cheek!!! HEAR HEAR, WELL SAID ALF, BLOODY DISGRACE IF THATS THE CASE >

Guest stb- Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 HEAR HEAR, WELL SAID ALF, BLOODY DISGRACE IF THATS THE CASE > is there a wage rise in the offing ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
ALF Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Was that @ £1.20 last year big fella, if they are charging wan fifty this year, some profit next year, no sure just checked income/expenditure on shu balance sheet re ETS rings
Guest IB Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 There was no increase in price of ETS rings discussed or agreed at SHU Council meetings or AGM. The theme of discussions was to limit any increases to cover cost increases to SHU from manufacturers, so in current economic cilimate a 30p increase per ring just doesn't 'ring' true.. Maybes a wind-up?
