I,ve got 3 or 4 spare yearlings which will have to go in with the darkness Y/Bs,do members think it will bring them into a body moult as I was thinking of sending them to a couple of short races latter on.

I am in the exact same position, as I have a few spare yearling hens in with my darkness youngsters, so eager to hear all the comments ;)

if doing darkness in the right way they should go thru a light body moult but it does them good, last years barcelona winner was in with the darkies for a couple of months, and moulted lightly, still won biggest race in europe.

roger sutton  astbury , near congleton  keeps some hens on the dark , not sure if in same loft as y, birds  tho these are paired to coincide with old hens natinal race , mostly on their first youngster of the year , and there,s not many in sectL better record than roger
