PIGEON_MAN Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 I,ve got 3 or 4 spare yearlings which will have to go in with the darkness Y/Bs,do members think it will bring them into a body moult as I was thinking of sending them to a couple of short races latter on.

I am in the exact same position, as I have a few spare yearling hens in with my darkness youngsters, so eager to hear all the comments

Hi No they wont moult , on my third year with this and they go to every RACE Percentage wise lost the least of them last year started with 11 lost 3 Cheers Homer 49
atlantic Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 if doing darkness in the right way they should go thru a light body moult but it does them good,last years barcelona winner was in with the darkies for a couple of months,and moulted lightly,still won biggest race in europe.
Guest cloudview Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 roger sutton astbury , near congleton keeps some hens on the dark , not sure if in same loft as y, birds tho these are paired to coincide with old hens natinal race , mostly on their first youngster of the year , and there,s not many in sectL better record than roger
