Guest bristolkev Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 We've all witnessed the price setting by petrol companies. Give it a go > > Subject: Fw: Petrol Prices Must Read > > > The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, But the oil > companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not > do > anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase. > > > See what you think and pass it on if you > agree with it > > We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced > with > paying 1.50 a litre. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: > > > This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day > campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just > laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves > by > refusing to buy petrol. Here's the idea: > > > For the rest of this year DON'T PURCHASE ANY petrol FROM the two biggest > oil > companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. > > > > If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce > their > prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to > follow > suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso > and > BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! > > > Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how > simple it is to reach millions of people!! > > > I am sending this note to a lot of people. If those three million get excited and > > pass this on to ten friends each, then > 30 > million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, > you > guessed it... ... > > > THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! > > Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and > not > buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this > email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, > > all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next > 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes sense > to > you, please pass this message on. > > PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR > PRICES TO THE 90p a LITRE RANGE > > It's easy to make this happen. Just > forward > this email, and BUY your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, > Morrisons > Jet etc. > > BOYCOTT ESSO and BP. > > > > >
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 What date was that sent out 114.9 a litre is but a distant memory !!
lawrie Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 it wont work, these things never do. you want to beat oil companys down? get a bus pass. simple. if you drive a car and dont want a bus pass, pay the price they want.
pigeonforce Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 The high prices of fuel are a joke this idea makes sense,
Guest frank dooman Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 i think this is a great idea but where does the like of tesco/asda buy there petrol from i thought they all had to buy from the two big boys so if we all change to them will they not just force the price to them up and it all starts again
pigeonforce Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 What date was that sent out 114.9 a litre is but a distant memory !! Highest iv paid so far this week is £1.27.9 at a motorway service station, if I hadn't of been so low I wouldn't have paid it. :-/
just ask me Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 think for anything like this to work a date should have been added to the message it gives people something to aim for :-/
lawrie Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 all other garages will soon follow the 2 big companies, they know theres money to be made. fuel is so high due to the lack of it. and it will continue to go up in price.

lawrie Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 maybe true, but theres not much that can be done to prevent the prices going up.
Guest pied 09 Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 not sure where the others get thier petrol from, but i know tesco use esso. so i dont know what difference it would make if you still use them. wouldnt it be better to play the 2 big companies off against each other.

Agree lol.... have still to try and get three crates of pigeons on the back seat. Now in the 50's / 60's many fanciers, my dad included, used to take their birds to the club via bu. The front was packed with crates lol. True. Well as for the boycott, well this is the third time it has been tried... to no avail. Like us fanciers I deem, leave it to any and everyone else, but they personally need...
