Blue Tooner Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Anyone know the best website to get maps from and what scale they need to be?? cheers
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Your Union probably stipulates the scale (ours does) Had a carry on with one of our new members measurements and got copies from library but the local 'measurer' wouldn't accept them - so ended up paying £80 at (I think) Servicepoint - then he apologised and said a smaller one (for a fiver) would have done (a bit late then !!)
Taylorsloft Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 You can get them from the council for 20p
Blue Tooner Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 You can get them from the council for 20p Heard that but according to Irvine they aren't any use. have you used them Stevie?
fred smyth Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 thought it was all done with sat navs now days
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 You can get them from the council for 20p You certainly can't in our area
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 I recently had to buy one for my measurements. I phoned Linda first to check which scales she could use. Depending on your area, the club may already have one, but if like me you are in a rural area so need a new one you have no other option, but to buy, I think. I bought a sitemap for £23-50. The scale was 1:1250. You can also get 1:2500 and 1:10000. I think there was one other scale she could use, but I'm sure she will keep you right.
Taylorsloft Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Yes I think they need to have easting and northing on them
Blue Tooner Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 thought it was all done with sat navs now days Could do them before using streetmap.co.uk but SHU doesn't accept them now,, not sure why. we submitted a couple of maps this week via streetmap but SHU rang our secretary to tell him they were not acceptable anymore :-/

PIGEON_MAN Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 I just got a photocopy from the local library, needs to have the gridlines and the numbers on. Check with the RPRA because when they advised me I told them at the library what I wanted and had no problems at all.
