Just after 12 i was visiting a loft of wan owe ma club members, just when he had the birds oot, they had a good fly, then went to the roof, just at that we were talking about the sparrowhawk, he said ave no had the doos oot from late Novemebr, because of it, then BANG, the hen came from nowhere, caught one, i jumped the wall and chased it aff the doo, then the hawk sat in the trees, just goes to show you there always about, and this was the biggest hen ave seen,  :) :) will speak to him the night at the club, to see what injurys the bird sustained.  :)

YIP THERE ALWAYS ABOOT , DOVE SCOT WAS HERE TODAY AND IT MADE AN APPEARANCE

 

AS SOON AS WE WENT UP TO THE LOFT ,  ITS HAD A GO ALL DAY PULLING A FEW FEATHERS OOT OF SOME OF THERE TAILS BUT THE PIGEONS HAVE GOT AWAY THIS TIME

AS NONE MISSING TONIGHT :( :( :( :( :( :(

After ours were attacked the other day they will be kept in for a while now ,but there is only so long you can keep them in

our doos have been locked up all winter but have been out over the last two weeks and the hawk killed one two days ago, i never let them out yesterday but i did today and i stayed with the birds and as i was coming out the loft they all went up again, I don't know if it got one but what can you do. :o :o

There are doo men two streets from me who let there birds out all winter and havent lost any???? :'(

Thats the problem with shutting the birds up when you do let them out they're not as fit as the hawk

Lost one in front of loft 2 weeks ago kept the birds in for a week but very few ventured out when opened the front up again can see how birds will loose form if attacked during racing season

Its because of the hawk we shut the birds up, if I let them out all winter I will be feeding the hawks all winter.

Even just before the season starts when the birds are super fit the hawk can take a bird from my loft every time it attacks ive wittnessed this first hand.

Yeh I did realise why you shut them in, mine are on open loft all year, hawk had 2 in a week early 09 and not lost one since but had two near misses this week thats why I say if mine had been shut up they would probably have been hits
