pigeonchested Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Just read my local newspaper today(Ayrshire Post), a man was walking his jack rusell pup on the local golf course and a buzzard nabbed it and carried it off into the sunset never to be seen again. Unbelievable

Guest stb- Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Not quite a pit bull think a buzard would have second prize with that Ally you will find the jack russel was prob just young pup , as i no that the jacks i had would have swallowed a buzzard in no time :)
Guest Owen Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I do not know what a buzzard might do, but you can garantee that a female Goshawk could and would kill a small dog. They are killing domestic ducks and chicken in this area. They have taken a lot of the wild rabbits and as they run out of food, who knows what will be next. There has been problems with the local foxes coming into the gardens and taking livestock. Probably because the wild rabbits are now scarce as a food source. Bring it on I say. We will need to be prepared to keep the public informed as part of our civic duty. Let's see how the RSPB will handle that.

cowman Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 very clever birds are buzzards on the factories when the sea gulls have young the hen will fly over the nesting site and the gulls can be seen chasing her away while they are busy with her the cock comes in and helps himself to the young in the nest .

Unbelievable I wonder what ficticious propaganda the RSPB will release to deflect attention from this. Sadly this event should have been published in the National Press and on any anti RSPB web sites.
cowman Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 there was something on the news not so long back that a man jogging was attacked on the head by a buzzard.

Roland Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Agreed Owen. Time is, especially with those - or a one - that has a little time, where these, and much more of course as the stories come in, are logged and put into sub headings with times and dates and place(s) of the sauce of informatiom. Now like the RPRA though who's aim is just to let new starter the safest place to set up a loft :-/ :o
Alen Gibb Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Same thing happened in Cornwall a few months back - buzzard taking a Jack Russell
Roland Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 My last post should have read 'Not like the RPRA .....' and not 'Now'!
