This pigeon over the last week or so must have gone through half a pack of tobacco stalks and same with straw,he use to follow me round the garden when i threw fresh stuff down.Have you got many doing this and do they make good racers(i fly natural).Lindsay C.

I had one a few years ago that built an unbelievable size nest  - the pair could barely squeeze into it cos the roof was in the way....

 

not had one like it since - but have a couple with nests the size of yours - and some with barely a straw in - one last year with half a dozen 6 inch nails and nothing else

 

can't comment on how well they might have done as I don't make notes on how big their nests are (maybe we all should)

Pigeons arn't thick or at least some of them arn't.Do you think they are trying to tell us something.Storms tomorrow then temperatures plummeting well below zero on Sunday.???????? Lindsay C.

Same as, just got this stock pair,biggest nest I'v had birds build

 

Keep a close eye on the eggs,had a few build nests like this with tobbacco stalks last year and eggs rolled off and broke,will never use them again.

i used tabacco stalks last year and whatever it is about them ,,,, they kill everything if anything there !!! i would never use anything else .... absolutely fantastic !!!!! only my view lads ...mikey

Keep a close eye on the eggs,had a few build nests like this with tobbacco stalks last year and eggs rolled off and broke,will never use them again.

i lost day old chicks stalks across there necks never used them again.

I snap the stalks in half and put them in the nests, they still make decent sized ones but nothing has happened to the chicks or eggs.
