ALF Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 the race is newbury 329 ml snfc Personally i'd keep her for Eastbourne mate and she'll be sitting a lot better
fred x Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I would rest her for a few more days M8, let her get used to the eggs under her!
hotrod Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 would u send a pigeon to a race on saturday if it laid its second egg on thursday pm me ure thoughts thanks jim is this bird fancied for this race or just to get miles into her?
jimbhoy29 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 it would be my pooler but i wouldnt just throw hur away i just thought hur next race would be 192 mile jump i thought that would be to much
Guest Vic Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Two weeks later! Surely? The rest, contentment and the very essence of nature alone, will put her to the fore.
hotrod Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 it would be my pooler but i wouldnt just throw hur away i just thought hur next race would be 192 mile jump i thought that would be to much i would rather jump 200 miles than put her away sitting 0 day at basket ,keep her and give her a few 50/60 milers and she'll do the jump no probs .
Guest 67ghirl Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 The fact that a second egg will be laid early afternoon and basketing will be in the afternoon/early evening doesn't bode well. After all there's not many women run a half marathon 2 days after giving birth lol
ALF Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I sent a hen to the race at the weekend that had only just laid her 2nd egg on friday afternoon ( in fact i was watching her all afternoon waiting for her to drop it maybe she was embarassed as it took her an age to drop the thing ;D ;D ;D ) but only to make sure she got over 200mls as she missed last weeks race as i thought she would lay back then : : : ps...she made it back in good time

Roland Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 No... takes a week to reset it's inners so needs rest. Then sent the Sat urday after - after not losing her - she should be sitting tight and ripe. Yes a couple of light tosses and fed High carbs mixed on Monday, a bit more on Tuesday and all Carbs Wednesday. If basketing THURSADAY then feed high Carbs a day before, and just prior to sending in basket.
