ALF Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I'll be there...i made sure my holiday didnae clash with it this year
Guest bigda Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 nope! just new measurement usually at a cost, if every a fed can find new sites it this one never fails :-/ :-/ and don"t race from them, tee hee
budgie Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Well with the number of pigeons left this season it surely would be worth while considering Old birds West and Young birds East never done them any harm 2008 and also go with the SNFC for our longest inland and Falaise longest.
budgie Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Ideal West Route to the centre and on the line of flight would be:- St Boswells Hexam Sedbergh Chesterfield Derby Leicester Newbury Chale,Isle of Wight or Poole Lille or Falaise With a couple of combacks before Newbury and Poole might just work for us in the West and most of these race points have messing facilities and room fror Artics. :-/ :-/

Cant disagree that we should be going to our longest inland and channel race with the SNFC.
budgie Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Hi Andy Sedbergh right into the heart of peregrine country Lib site is Killington Lake Services on the M6 Whats the distance from Sedbergh to Chesterfield ? Cheers Homer 49 Alex Looking into it there may be a 70 + mile jump .But listening to the Jungle Drums it may be a waste of time as it looks like East Route for 2009 due to the old bird losses some fanciers had this year. But what many forget is that we all have 95% Sh-t- in our loft and if they are not healthy it will not matter where we race from. Take care Budgie
Delboy Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 West?????????Are ye MENTAL. Surprised at you Budgie, maybe its because someone had a good year going west with the obs. ;D ;D

Davie Just look at the fantistic results in the Falaise Race put up by Lanrkshire members. With regards to the loses we had 5-6 weeks of Northeast winds for the first races.
ALF Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I know what way i'll be voting and it's not to send my pigeons west no way!!!
budgie Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 West?????????Are ye MENTAL. Surprised at you Budgie, maybe its because someone had a good year going west with the obs. ;D ;D Derek if we end up with the East winds we had for six weeks will it really matter , as they ended up in the West anyway. As my auld granny always says it will come oot in the washing and be decided at the meeting. Take care ;)
Big Davie Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 Yes Lanarkshire fanciers had some great performances from Falaise, but a lot of guys who did score well would not normally have entered birds with the SNFC if they had not been convoyed with them, in addition to this they did not have to split their teams to compete in two channel races which makes a big difference, i dont think the good performances can be down to racing on the west route. I agree the first six races were flown in east winds which does not make things any easier when flying a westerly programme,if you look at the losses in the Midland Fed over the last few years with both old and young birds then i am afraid this tells it,s own story. Its east for me if i can get it.

ALF Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 We'll all have to wait and see what happens on saturday but i think we could/should drop Cheltenham/Huntingdon for the SNFC Newbury race as our fed race is a non event as it is'nt an open or duplication race so whats the point in having a race of that distance when it means nothing? (unless you are chasing averages )
Big Davie Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 Hi Would like to add the 2 inland races plus channel race with SNFC be open races in LF Cheers Homer 49 Fine by me Homer 49 if it comes off, ive heard talk that Newbury might be dropped, cant see it myself its to much of a money spinner.

(unless you are chasing averages ) could not agree more Alf, Huntingdon / Cheltenham are a complete waste of time and effort if you had two inland races available to you with the SNFC.
HOMER49 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Hi The 2 hour sitting rule before liberation I would like to see this rule deleted for races under 150 miles would allow more flexibility to the race controller Example ..... We can still use Otterburn but EC rules say the drivers cant because there is no facilities So we allow the drivers to park up at nearest truck stop/café and when a decision is made to lib they go there and lib immediately this takes about 25/40 Min's to prepare plus traveling Cheers Homer 49
