We bought some Jan Aardens from them, mature birds not younsters.

They have all bred us winners over the channel upto 527 miles on the day - they have also crossed very well also - excellent birds and very reasonably priced too.

Derek and Joy are super people and very honest.

One of there new top pigeons is called T3 Pheonix, this is a son of my Pied Pheonix and has won right up to Bergerac in the MNFC.

I have two stock birds from Tumley lofts, two Jansen hens, one direct from the famous 10 hen and 1 direct from Jubilee 05 bred, between them they have bred some 15 winners, 4x fed winners, true honest pigeons at a very good price. And ive only lost 1 yb in three years off them both, paired onto different cocks. Thankyou Derek & James

Thanks for this information JSTOON and to also thanks to the Navigator.

More of this information is needed by us as we knew the 10 hen is fantastic and is still breeding at 14 years old but we have been consdering letting Jubilee go as we haven't heard much of his offspring. So maybe we'll hang onto him unless anyone fancies him?!?!?!

We know/suspect that many fanciers who have success with our birds don't let us know directly if at all because they think we'll then put our prices up due to the success!  Unfortunately this has led to us destroying stock birds that we believe have produced nothing much, only for fanciers to turn round a couple of years later and ask for more from those birds because they did so well with them!

If we know your results we can keep improving our stock even faster!

We were thinking of running a competition to to give a prize to the best performances achieved by Tumley Lofts Stud pigeons to encourage people to send in their results.  What do you think? Or would you good folks out there be willing to send me through your results?

I think you will get more results if there is a prize up for grabs, say a pair of young birds, just my thought, people should be letting others no about the performance of birds any way, but to dispose of stock birds that have bred the goods, they dont come very often.

I think a prize each year would undoubtedly get more of a response. I think you are a bit of a hidden secret. Your regulars must come back every year and say nowt!! Because the quality I saw of your three families was extremly impressive. That '10' line is superb!

well im sure you could ask for the authors of the posts for there permision  to use them for references  :) as for copying site content you would have to seek permision from webmaster  :)

To those who have left the comments above, I was just wondering if it would be ok to print out and display them on our stand at blackpool?

I don't have any problem doing that James - we fly as Simeon & John Turner

Yes that might work ... But have reservations personally in as much I can't see many changing their’ minds as to where they got winners from.

Further - as to the above quote, the part I'd highlight would be '... people should be letting others know about the performance of birds any way'! I’m afraid this just never happens in reality, or at best very rarely, it being more a 'Wink and a nudge’ game like, and not very forth coming as a general rule.

I therefore feel 'Advertising' is probably the best way forward personally until a a household name.

Golly they needn’t even go to a race, but like some advertise they have won nationals.

So a 'Morgan’s' fork, being forthright and honest is longer, but far more reliable. But I see, as most do, advertisements every week that are rubbish! But! one or two become very famous and need never do oat else.  I mean why advertise when sold out every year!

Yet they still get a few 'Punts' every so often.  I mean via many ways, besides the Scribe have a pair of youngsters of their top pair.

So advertise till a ‘Good inn needs no Bush’ and then just a little here and there to keep in the fanciers domain.

Tumley Lofts - i done the same this year we have only been selling birds for 3 years but i wanted to go through the stock loft to cull any non performers so we run a competition to find out the info we done 1 prize for best performence or performences with our birds and 1 prize to be drawing lucky dip. the idea of this was not just to get the big winners but some of the smaller winners which has been very useful to see certain birds which through have not bred national, Classic or combine winners have bred birds to do well in club/fed races with 1 cock breeding a very high % of birds to either score or breed birds to win and score.

I would say well worth doing mate

All the best

Pheonix and Pied Pheonix have both proved real good acqusitions esp the Old Man Pheonix who has bred 4 real good winners crossed with our Aardens including my 1st pigeon in the NFC Tours. I have 8 1/2 brothers of T3 Pheonix in the race team, i havnt dropped 1 yet so they should go on.

Derek has always been kind two me so if you ever wanted to borrow a hen from his g-father just let me Know.

P.S.

In 1997 i purchased 6 ybs from Tumely and from these 6 one, a blue cock was 2nd Combine 7200b and one was 2nd Combine 7900b.

All the best
