Roland Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 which birds would yous reccomend for distance flying ie 5oo+miles AQny bird for that... if can't do that and are it, love their home and are content.... best thing about not making it is that you won't be breeding youngsters like them.
Roland Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 seal gulls or albatrosses the rime of the ancient mariner proper water birds Albatrosses actually cover 3000 miles in 6 days to home when removed away. Yes they can actually home like pigeons.

hotrod Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 there you go bourges will be easy thenyou'll need a bloody big loft even for a pair or two.
Roland Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 you'll need a bloody big loft even for a pair or two. Yep, and chuck away the scraper... just a spade, or a mini JCB LOL ;D ;D
jimmy white Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 which birds would yous reccomend for distance flying ie 5oo+miles i would recomend buying , or obtaining, yb,s as direct as possible bred from winners at that particuar distance , flying over the same terrain ,,,irrespective of breeds some times late breds are available, later, in the year, quite cheap, and bred direct from thes 500 mile+winners and prize-winners
Guest cloudview Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 would go to a lofts with consistant good results at the distance your interesed in , firstly tho get some from a fancier that excels in nose enders , birds that can keep going for 14 hours plus on the day , daft as it sounds these birds ar,nt much good in tailenders , i dont know why . so you need to mix and match now , and go to lofts winning at 11 to twelve hours on wing after proper testing you,ll have birds to suit every wind . example say van reets , will win at 500 but on a ten hour day . ask them the next year to do 12 hours plus you wont see them
les Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 northern birds ,they will travel any distance for a free night out ,even in high heels and short skirts. ;D

pigeonscout Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 i would recomend buying , or obtaining, yb,s as direct as possible bred from winners at that particuar distance , flying over the same terrain ,,,irrespective of breeds some times late breds are available, later, in the year, quite cheap, and bred direct from thes 500 mile+winners and prize-winners I agree, forget names and go to a loft that is winning from 500+ miles today and not 5 or 10 years ago.
Dave barrie Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 the only ones ive bred for 500ml to me is arie vissor /janssen ,did well in hard north wind,go to a flyer you know, not a flyer you dont that sounds good and you wast money. the best ones come from a friend and is usually free ;)
