Guest bigda Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 at 6 year old was given a red checker that had won the rose bowl from avranches to tread all the hens in my shed, the birds i had then a mixture of factory type, bridge type and having to carry a bag of feeding 1/6d 1/2 stone it felt like a bag of feeding then carrying it for 2mile home with out the a-rse of it falling out if wet ;D ;D fun though

fletch Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 since i could get in the loft have a picture of me at 4 years old holding my all time fav bird GB 84 T51251,(Checker pied cock) who i rememer winning from nantes when i was about 7 and still have a vivid memory of him arriving home, he lived till he was 15 years old at my friends loft. I loved that pigeon.

George UK Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 i was 9 when i first stated i am now 51 13 of may i sold my first bird for £5.00 that was a lot of money and the bird still came back i never wanted to sell it but the chap dogged me for it i am still learning all i can say is always spend tine with the birds they alway tell u somthing more time u spend with them the better u learn the way they roar and walk fly ect i know what thay gonna do before they do it lol oops i talk to much have a great night all
grizzal Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 I was 6 when i first got the birds,did not start racing till i was 16. before i started racing used to go and watch van roberts dads birds come home. now i am getting my granddaughter and grandson to help,hopefully it will rub off on them :)
