Guest KING BILLY Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 how do you define best flyer avereges or how many races they have won 2 different ways to look at it for me it must be the averges out of the full programe and if it is avereges that barsturt TAM RICHARDSON has won 3 out the last 4 years in newmains and cambesnethen ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
pigeonpete Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 me of course!! just the secretary got the result sheet the wrong way round im sure :-) was Eric taylor by far, lost count on how many 1st feds he had this year aswell :-)
Guest j.bamling Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I would say the flyer with the most 1sts is the better flyer
Guest KING BILLY Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I would say the flyer with the most 1sts is the better flyer so if a fancer wins 3 races up to 150mls and the other fancer wins 2 races one at 250mls and the other at 400mls are you saing the fancer with the 3 is the best i dont think so
BANDIT Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 IMO THE FANCIER THAT WINS THE AVERAGES IS THE BETTER FLYER,OF COURSE EVERYBODY ALSO WANTS TO WIN,SO MORE OFTEN OR NOT ITS THE GUY THAT HAS THE MOST WINS HAS THE MOST POINTS ALSO.
Simeon Turner Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 so if a fancer wins 3 races up to 150mls and the other fancer wins 2 races one at 250mls and the other at 400mls are you saing the fancer with the 3 is the best i dont think so Horses for Courses, all that proves is one is good at shorter distance, the other at longer distances!
Guest bakes Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 nuneaton church road club/coventry & district fed yb racing smith & wheeler they took most of the club cards me mate neil mr and mrs butler and son he done well taking a few club wins and 2nd club some other top flyers near me in different feds armstrong wheatley,p frisby,m lennon, evans & woods all done well around my area mostly over the water mnfc armstrong wheatley are on fire at the moment near me taking alot of the south centre over the water mnfc races the latest result was mnfc treble chance lessay winning there section and had a nestmate to the winner taking 17th open same race before this great result they took 1st section 2nd section mnfc oldbird lessay plus first section in yearling race all the best k baker
Guest KING BILLY Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Horses for Courses, all that proves is one is good at shorter distance, the other at longer distances! so who is the best flyer thats how avreges are mad up thare are avereges for sprint and distent races but overall avreges must be the best flyer so if you said who was the best sprintr the best middel and the best distent then you could name them but the question was who was the best flyer in your club so it has to go to who wone the avereges i think

We also have averages, but how many times are they won just because someone has timed in every race (and this is by no means being disrepectful to anyone)

If you dont send one week your out of the averages, you could win every week bar the one race you never sent and not be the best flyer in the club?. Points is the only way.

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 There was another thread on the go about this subject and i was against the points system as it would be won by a fancier in the first 5 races because of his location, if done on points the only way for me to be fair is that only the fanciers first pigeon counts and he must compete all in races. Would hate to have a fed champion that cant fly by 140 miles. :-/ :-/ :-/ JMO In fact how about it that when you go past 200 miles then the races becomes double points as at this stage as location becomes less of a issue.
Simeon Turner Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 wee also have the points cup 5 4 3 2 1 first getting 5 and so on but thats the thing about doo racing its not over till the last race that is normaly over the water at 500mls you could be wining the point cup out the park wich i have then nothing home from the last race but so to me wining the point cub is inportent but wining the avreges more inportent not always the same person Fair comment, but would you sooner win the 500 mile race and the averages and be bottom of the result every other week, or not time in one race but win say 10 x 1st plus other positions and be highest points winner ? I know which I would prefer!
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 In my club there is loads of top flyers i carnt name just one lol
Guest KING BILLY Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 500mls and averages every time i have wone the points cup meney a time not bragin but thare is somthing more specal timing in at 500mls on the shift than say wining the pionts cup and to be onest with you you will never go to the bottem of the shet every week and then win the 500ml race not unles it was a disaster of a race the problem is triying to keep them going from first race to the last race wich i have done 3 out the last 4 years
robbiedoo. Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 must agree with king billy i myself have won the old bird averages 4 out of the last 5 years and because of my loft location will hardly ever be on the fed result on the short races but when we cross the border 200 mile plus i,ll never be far away .
