snfc Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 nothing to do with that birds will come from a to b where possible unless somthing stops them ie bop in the hills. before we raced east 6 or 7 years ago and were on the west side the birds had already started going up the easterly more safer side. If you read my post it says that it was starting to happen 25 plus years ago and has gotten steadily worse. If i train my bird 50mls east most times nowadays i get them in the exspected time. unfortunatly nowadays if i go 50mls south sometimes im lucky to get them at all and are scattered and take days. at newbury snfc 2009 what happened bop in the west as the birds came up the day as the result shows.
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 at newbury snfc 2009 what happened bop in the west as the birds came came up the day as the result shows Im sure the East - North - East wind helped slightly..
Guest stb- Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 at newbury snfc 2009 what happened bop in the west as the birds came up the day as the result shows. considering the number away and the strong east in the wind im sure this contributed to the good west section positions acheived . Put a bit of west in it and then try to get them through the hills when there more spaced out and flying lower
Guest uphallhen Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Im sure the East - North - East wind helped slightly..so that takes them up the west side where stb said the bop stops them, come on bop everywhere race back down the west and you will see alot more west coast boy's on the result.
Guest stb- Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 so that takes them up the west side where stb said the bop stops them, come on bop everywhere race back down the west and you will see alot more west coast boy's on the result. sorry m8 weve been there done it and had no birds left to send ,not for me im afraid would love to fly that route but with the good birds that get lost not worth it now. got to be a suicide jockey to go there .

If you had said that to me a month ago.. i would have probably agreed.. now i really really just dont know which direction i think we should race in.. Pros and cons for any direction.. I do think tho, that if we all put as much energy in to campaigning for a controlled cull of the BOPs as we do arguing over.. 'whos got it hardest'..'whos the best' or 'where to go'... then we might make a major step forward in the saving of our sport..
snfc Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Im sure the East - North - East wind helped slightly.. how does the bop not hunt in e/n/e wind.

If there wernt the amount of bop and the birds didnt get trapped in the hills i would be the first one to go straight down the m74 , but alas no more :o
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 how does the bop not hunt in e/n/e wind. Never said that.. Just with so much east in the wind you would expect a few West boys to be well up..
Guest stb- Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 how does the bop not hunt in e/n/e wind. off course they do but whenthe birds are higher and comming in in big numbers they dont do as much dammage. as i said in an west wind when there lowin the hills and in smaller groups they get picked of all day

Guest bigda Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 why don't the 2 nationals join together for there inland races 6 0f them then go with the unc for the six races across the water, that way at yer agms, you would only have the one agenda, distance racing, tay yer hearts content no need to depend on the lanarkshire and such like feds then the lanarkshire would take all the rest of the sound in mind sprinting out to 380 - 400 mile we allready have the sections ;D ;D ;D
