Guest tom123 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 well basketed last night for our first race , four members have now returned their ets systems to the club and gone back to mannual clocks ,in respect to the in crease in price of unikon ets rings , like they say if you keep buying them they will keep going up we need to make a stand obviouslly they have flooded the market with systems and that is slowlly drying up so they increase there rings and pads to try and claw back lost revenue whats your views?
holmsidelofts Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Yeah i have to agree, i love my ets but the cost of rings are disgusting, for me to fly again this year i will have paid close to £100 for both the club rings and ets rings. something has to be done about the cost of these if the manufacturers want to keep these systems in the clubs.
Guest Mav Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 How much do the rings cost?, I have not got ETS so no idea how it works yet. Why do you have to by more rings once you have already got them?. is it simply because you need more?. Will it bring the price of the systems down if they have flooded the market? Mav.
greenlands Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Hi Mav,you buy more rings because you loose the birds that have the original rings on. On another note race rubbers are going the same way £32/1000 ,in a big club you'll soon go through them.
Guest tom123 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 rings have gone up from £1.10 to £1.30 since 2009 and pads have gone up to £115.00
slatey Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 unikon ets rings or now £1.30 each you have to buy each year for your ybs

Mav. like everything new on the market after the dovelty of it has dropped off the prices go down to keep the interest and sales up but they have gone the other way and increased everything

Mav. it boils down to if you lose a bird you lose the ets ring the bop haven`t worked out how to return them yet
Pompey Mick Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 If the price of rings is a major issue then perhaps the size of YB teams need to be addressed. I doesnt take too much of a reduction to help pay for the rings what with the price of corn. I cant understand members handing back their ETS solely on cost of rings, I would have thought that , as a compromise, they could just race OBs on the system, especially those that are already rung up. Is your Club going to sell these ETS systems, you'll find plenty of takers.
Guest strapper Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 no one in my club has ets...all t3,s.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 rings have gone up from £1.10 to £1.30 since 2009 and pads have gone up to £115.00 bricon rings still are £1.10
jakjak Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I use ets for my old birds only. I dont put ets rings on youngsters..........I revert to 'rubber' clocking........simply because too many youngsters are lost......hence, a waste of money Like Mick just said.....reduce the number of pigeons you own. I am on my second season with ETS and I am still on my original pack of 20 unikon rings But yes the pigeon fancier is being 'ripped' off with the price of them rings
OLDYELLOW Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 i think the companys all should be quizzed at these high prices and see if infact the price they charge is actualy fair , surely these companys should now be looking at reducing there over heads and just making rings , for the bit of plastic and chip on a ring £1.10 / £1.30 cant actualy be a fair price as are mass produced , by all means make a profit but about time there prices match the bits of plastic and electrical bits used :D :D :D

OLDYELLOW Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 trading standards office of fair trading , get them to look into it :D :D rip of Britain :D :D
Robert Hyde Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I agree with you Tom.Most in our club just use them for old birds. Its the same with the cables ,you can by them for a quarter of the price on Ebay.
kirky Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 unikon ets rings or now £1.30 each you have to buy each year for your ybs i take mine off the old birds and put them on ybs.

Novice Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Like I always say Gillette make their cash selling razor blades. They give you the razor free
fred x Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I think the Price of the ETS rings have put a set back on the System, as a lot of our members have removed the ets rings & had rubbers put on for the first race of the season
hotrod Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Like I always say Gillette make their cash selling razor blades. They give you the razor free great point robert . far too pricy for me ,some that breed 100 plus y/bs thats around £130 a year on top of your dues /feeding/ training costs/ buying birds. its gettin a sport/hobby for the rich .
