This is the danger in obtaining a microscope and doing your own, everything looks like everything at first until you get your eye in.

thanks and ur right there, thats why i think there should be a sub forum many ppl have obtained these microscopes and like myself have books here but havent got the trained eye. Thanks

The images that you have put on Lofty are not what you would see under the microscope to be honest

The images that Wiley put on are definately starch granules

Wiley

google images should get you a few images of coccidia oocysts, threadworm eggs etc under the microscope.

there is also a link on the finchaviary site at the very bottom of the page - to a yahoo avian microscopy group if you want to join up.

Best thing you can do is to get in touch with David Parsons (Vet) and book on to one of his Microscope teaching courses (£30). He is usually full, but give it a try. Not only does he teach, and teach well, but shows you what, where and how to look properly. And he gives you photos, plus spare spatulas, cotton buds, slides in  addition. You'll be surprised at who could be sitting beside you on the bench. Cheers, Bill.

Yes Bilco he is very approachable and more than helpful. He can normally be found working on a stand upstairs in the Blackpool show. Can also be contacted via this link   http://www.poultryhealthcentre.com/default.htm
