robbiedoo. Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Does anyone think that if you reverted back to flying the way they flew in the 60's you win more or less : i could,nt answer that question but i do think there would,nt be so much crap going around and less mob fliers. was there a 98% rule in those days i dont think so some of the old team were sick if they lost 3 or 4 doos for their whole season changed days nows

pigeonscout Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Natural immunity. But if the pigeon has proven itself at the highest level then it will be giving a chance. But only the once. Do you believe that you can have a team of birds with a natural immunity so good that will prevent them from getting sick?
VMS Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Do you believe that you can have a team of birds with a natural immunity so good that will prevent them from getting sick? Absolutely,Its the only way for me.Not knocking others that chose their path, but its certainly not one that i would follow.
pigeonscout Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Absolutely,Its the only way for me.Not knocking others that chose their path, but its certainly not one that i would follow. There is no such a thing as a pigeon that has an immune system that will protect it from all virus / bacteria.
VMS Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 There is no such a thing as a pigeon that has an immune system that will protect it from all virus / bacteria. As i said / stated choose your path and i will follow mine, best of luck with what you are looking to achieve.

pigeonscout Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 pigeonscout GOES WITHOUT SAYING ANTIBIOTICS LOWERS THE BIRDS NATURAL IMMUNE SYSTEM They can also save a good birds life
pigeonscout Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Prolong use or miss use of antibiotics will damage the birds but I think treating a bird that is sick with the right antibiotic will do it more good than harm.
VMS Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Each to their own, their are many different methods but i will stick to ones that i believe in.

Guest IB Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 so do you agree there is no need to pump all the crap that some fanceirs put into their pigeons for no reason at all .me personaly i,m not into all the crap that some of them use its just a fashion thing if he dose it i will do it aswell . the first my doos will see is a canker tablet in may but some fanceirs have spent a fortune on all this different kinds of stuff that is doing their doos no good at all . hense the reason the first hard race and they get clattered and whos to blame yes the race controler or driver the doos havent been watered any excuse apart from the mirror jmo There's maybe more than you and I think that way. There was a gem of throwaway line in David Parson's DVD when Tony Cowan told us 'DEFRA told me the British Racing Pigeon was a fine healthy specimen until we started importing pigeons from Belgium'. Tony was then speaking about the health management system that came with those imports, and his personal experience of following one.
