just ask me Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 well for me its peanuts that are for human consumption i feed the young birds a bit in my hand makes them tame for racing birds well all depends on the race coming up bit dont over feed on them as they are fattening

just ask me Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 red skinned from morrissons must be fit for human consumption as wild birds peanuts have too much mould on them which can make the birds very ill i know its off point but i do think its needs a mention if bad grade peanuts are put in wild bird food and we all know the peanuts in wildbird food is of very low standard why do we feed them to our wild birds as we as pigeon fanicers knows the damage that bad peanuts can cause are our wild birds any different i dont think so i think these peanuts cause them harm too if this is the case how can so called wildlife lovers or bird lovers ie bill oddie put there name to this feed im sure he knows the damage that bad peanuts does to birds me and one of my rants again sorry for going off the point ;D ;D ;D

And what kind of peanuts? i dont feed peanuts i think it causes crop infections, but as you can see theres a good few here that do feed peanuts i think it down to feeding them when there y/b only my option

Tony C Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 My w/hood cocks get a peanut (human grade) each everytime I enter their loft. Once my y/birds have the taste for them they're offered to them by hand, if they dont take them from the hand they go without.
