greenlands Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I had intended to feed Bamfords Hi Protein Economy when breeding, one of the lads in another club uses it for breeding and racing,he take his fair share of red cards.I always used the Gerry + system but the price of their feed is stupid. My local corn supplier now sells Vanrobaeys,I've always liked it when I've seen it at Blackpool but it was never available in this area. The Breeding Mix is £ 11:75.for 27.5 kg .I think I'll go down that road and look for a lighter mix to race on. What are you intending to use ???????? Lindsay
Wiley Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 vanrobaeys casaert mixes are a brillant mixture, they have the cleanest corn i know on the market

Lindsay hi lindsay m8..i feed high protein economy...used for breeding and racing..but i added more beans when breeding. i buy my economy mix from court farm hereford and i race pretty good on it. the mix costs me £8.60 for 25kg. but i do give the birds loads of peanuts during the race season. ive raced on this for a few years.
GRAHAM MITCHELL Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I am feeding 100% whole barley at the moment. I will gradually cut the barley down and add Best All Rounder from the middle of Jan until the end of the month where they will be on 100% mixture.

blackdog Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 just about the same as you would get in soup mixes mate, get them from any corn merchants
sammy Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 plain canary with a bit of egg food every other day ;D ;D ;D
Guest mick bowler Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I'd feed whatever mix i fancy, but i prefer a breeding mix (any make, prob cheapest!) and then try to keep a bag each of barley, Maples and beans, and by adding one or more of these to any mix at any time i have always found to get the right diet. I always try to keep a hopper full of barley and maples when breeding (as well as usual feeds), considering they not supposed to "like" barley it soon goes. I will also have a bag of maize for racing, especially when the longer races come.

Guest bigbok Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 i fed bucktons youngbird for over 20 years and just switched to crowthers young bird more wheat than i like but a good price for 25 kg
jimbhoy29 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 crowthers best breeding and g 10 pellets...
Novice Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Last year I used the Bamfords 3 phase system and the birds looked and raced well on it. As it was expensive I intend to look long and hard at alternatives in Blackpool and decide from there. At the moment Best all round with about 50% depurative added. I don't want to reduce them too much with the sub zero temperatures.
DOVEScot Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Mostly barley and what is left from the other mixes
