Novice Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 I tried to save a few shillings and asked Bamfords if they would deliver to my home with me paying delivery charge. They said they only sold through Grain Merchants. I am not sure the reason for the Versa Laga price increase but the excuse will probably be the weak pound.
thunderbigbaws Posted March 14, 2010 Author Report Posted March 14, 2010 a mate of mine topped the up north combine feeding corn bought from local farms good for him, great performance, i wouldnt feed it but hey we all have our own ideas
Big Davie Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 Ive used Swainstons for about 7 years and raced well on it , but last year I bulk bought and the feeding was full of blue and white peas( which the birds didn't like) and I was stuck with it. the feeding is not as good as it used to be, too inconsistent with the mixing. Dealt with

Dealt with Steve Swainston for 10 years, changed over to Bamfords in January 2009, as Swainstons mixes had gone right down hill, i.e. full of blue and white peas, dari and poor quality wheat with hardly a maple to be seen, and every load you got in was mixed differently, have found Bamfords to be first class, always consistently mixed and not bulked up with cheaper grains. Guest j.bamling Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I must admit i wouldn't feed my racers on farm corn especialy from Swainstons and he is only a mile from my house but thats just my opinion 1. thing you must think of is farm corn or swainstons is only cheap for 1 reason and thats because its not of top class knowing Steven Swainston as i do if the corn was better the price would be higher as he is a hungry buisness man but its not and thats why its cheap Pay the extra for the racers such as Versela laga , Natural corns that way there is no excuses I feed the stock on crowthers best all round 25kg £9.75 & is ideal for birds not racing
