We can not make you choose us, but as Pigeon Fanciers we know what is the best way to transport a Pigeon, this isn't with toxic/heavy/unsafe goods. Our prices are still £25 for up to 4 Pigeons and £2.00 thereafter when we have a few runs in one day, which has been the case for the past couple of weeks. Hope this helps.

Delboy Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I have not had any dealings with Cooper myself but I heard of a person who had his birds lifted from Elphinstone,Scotland, going to Southampton. They were in boxes for a week and were covered in green droppings and extremely dehydrated when delivered. Cooper said their van broke down and that the pigeons were kept in a loft?????.The dehydration told another story. I hope this was a one off mistake by Cooper Logistics as some people seem to think they are very good. :-/

rembrant2coo Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 well done that man , someone who has taking the bull by the horns great ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
PigeonTracker Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Back to the age old argument that we had with Amtrak, no courier will get 100% right, the good ones will learn and sort their mistakes, the others will fail time and time again :-/You said it, I thought it. Any company that risks mixing livestock with hardware are running a huge risk, I would not want to be that one customer who just happens to be the first one to get a crushed bird back as has happened many times with Amtrak. Price should be irrelevant to the real fancier who cares for his birds, but this is the real world and price does have some importance, so dedicated couriers with good prices will always be the winner in my books. Most wouldn't have sat in the back of a van or truck with it stinking of turps or some other pungent if not toxic smell, most of us wouldn't have sat in the back of a van for 300 miles or more being bashed about by heavy boxes and so on, I'm betting that if you did then you'd not bat an eyelid at paying an extra couple of pound to ensure your birds never suffered the same, they have the same senses, if not more than us humans. Off the soapbox, as said, pricewars aren't for us, we're only interested in providing a great service and will do our best to do so. Jamie
frank-123 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 maybe you should concentrate on your own business rather than rubbish your rivals as they say the cream comes to the top your company may well be the best but it is up to the fanciers to find out

I hope this was a one off mistake by Cooper Logistics as some people seem to think they are very good. :-/ Would be interesting to know when this was.....as I too had pigeons picked up from Scotland, and they did not deliver on the day they stated as the van had broke down. They also turned up with NO BOXES. I got the pigeons after 2 nights on the understanding that the pigeons had been fed and watered. When I got the pigeons they were in a crate, (fair enough) but I have been in pigeons long enough to know that they were not fed and watered. I am now going to give pigeon tracker a try.
alex wight Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Jak jak their service is superb. I,ve just recieved a call from jamie to let me know that he has picked up my birds in crewe and is on his way estimated time of arrival 4pm. Didnt get that with anyone else.
Roland Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 It is great - at the moment at least - with services being tightly contested. Yes Amtrack did have problems which of course goes without saying, as these others will also no doubt. But '... it is a ill wind that blows no good' and I can't help but feel these new serices with have heard and listen and learnt from Amtracks mistakes and have their stolls set out proper and accordingly. Like I say, 'A fool learns by his own mistakes ... A wise man by others'! Lets hope so. P.s. Duncan, not sure who's shares i wish to invest in yet lol ;D ;D
Blue Tooner Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Had two lots of 4 pigeons collected from me in Peterhead last Thursday by Cooper Logistics, one going to Norfolk and the other going to Stourbridge, end result is that neither of the fanciers have received their birds yet 6 days later. I also arranged fro them to bring a stray of mine back from Northumberland last week and I haven't seen this one yet either. Cooper Logistics rang me last night to say they would be with me in 2 hours to COLLECT 4 pigeons when I told the driver he should be delivering a pigeon to me and not collecting he said he would ring back. As yet no word. Tried ringing them this morning, engaged all the time for last hour. I know they must be very busy, but I'm getting a bit frustrated now.
JCOOPERLOGISTICS Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Unfortunately due to initial problems we have admittedly made mistakes. But we're not always to blame! How can we deliver a pigeon without an address on the box. We have collected many pigeons which have been left out for the driver to collect. Unfortunately they have not been marked with the delivery address its then down to detective work! If we don't collect the bird we're critisised if we collect and cant deliver until we have established the recipient! To enable ease of collection and delivery we're getting a booking form put on our website! This will enable customers to book 24 hours a day and 7 days a week! We are aiming to provide a number one service. All birds are checked before delivery we feed and water the birds. Most birds are delivered within 24 hours! Some even sameday!
Blue Tooner Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 JCOOPERLOGISTICS I have sent you a PM, (Top right of page, click on pm) cheers
