Just to clear up some confusion that is circulating at present

The Solway federation has no measures in place at present regarding the way forward with racing and coronavirus

Until the uk and Scottish government's decide otherwise regarding travel movement

And then following directives from our governing bodies no such discussions will take place

To have pigeon racing in the UK you would have a very high bio security, things that have to be done 1 gloves for all attending 2 all surface's to be scrubed down every week. 3 baskets to be disinfected ringers and ets control pad, printer, and computer

4 after birds been rung birds feet to be placed in a tray of good disinfectant,

5 basket men sterilize water drinkers and attend to basket duty's 4 minimum

6 when entering club hut in our out members must dip there feet in strong disinfectant

7 committee members to do each others birds

8 returned baskets to older pigeon men day after racing will have to be sprayed before getting them back

Race sheets will have to be proceeded buy the one and same guy with gloves on and placed in a strong box

10 all moneys handed in must be exact for amount of birds and pools

Hope this would help and there should be no contamination of lofts after the race.

Yes but carriers don't know they have it and club members with gloves on just keep going around in circles dabing the work surfaces, once again with the virus gloves protect you but not every pigeon and should you remove rubber gutty and place in clock it starts all over again ets might be safe as long as bleach is used this virus can live on metal and on pigeon rings

yes but there is always a but, should he no do it, you would never know he gave it to you. one f/up can start a pandemic once more, that's how you should forget about pigeon racing till it has passed. We don't know if we are washing our hands correctly as we have nothing to check it against just to sing god save the queen, or happy birthday to me means nothing really if I am a carrier

So why are people not disinfecting their feet before entering or leaving a supermarket? Or refusing people that don’t have the correct money or don’t pay by card! Or disinfecting the dogs feet, head tail, ears or anywhere else that somebody may have touched expletive remove!

Why would there be all these measures for pigeon racing when they are not in place now?

You would not be disinfecting your feet in a supermarket as you will not be picking anything from the floor, but they do not allow any children in the trolleys and only children that have a seat built in and aged about 3 -4 they don't like handling cash, and you are not allowed to touch anything unless you're buying it you have to disinfect your trolley and basket pigeon's get handled so if dipping there feet helps why not it was practiced in the foot and mouth,
