Happyflyer Posted July 30, 2019 Report Posted July 30, 2019 Surly from sat race alot a these young birds is made it to other peoples loft, and they not getting reported.. 100% sure about that
Happyflyer Posted July 31, 2019 Author Report Posted July 31, 2019 I got 2/3 birds back last yr after the racing, and they had not been stuck in an old barn some bit, gleaming well looked after, and I certainly think the young birds will be the same, in peoples lofts.. yep
easygaun Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 Surly from sat race alot a these young birds is made it to other peoples loft, and they not getting reported.. 100% sure about thatSome people have so many pigeons that would not notice an extra one or two, not me by the way but I had one reported a week or two ago, which had been missing from the loft for a few weeks. The guy was honest; said he didn't notice until he was jagging them and taking their numbers. He said he had 100 young birds. However a lot of birds can survive in the fields especially at this time of year; winter barley is being cut and pigeons can maintain tremendous form feeding in the fields.
eastcoaster Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 I have had 22 stray ybs in here this year so far and maybe only half dozen have any kind of identification so that could be your reason why most don't get reported .20/22 are back at their own loft and one is still here.
bibendium Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 Surly from sat race alot a these young birds is made it to other peoples loft, and they not getting reported.. 100% sure about that Ayrshire Fed had a disaster a week and half ago from Stubbs Camp , 1500 birds liberated to date maybe 400 are home , the amount reported or repatriated (by fanciers doing a fantastic job) is a very minor % of those still missing . to think the remaining missing birds are going into other lofts is folly unfortunatly, of these birds some will survive , most will perish .this is the sad truth of the matter .
Happyflyer Posted July 31, 2019 Author Report Posted July 31, 2019 If that were the case why are the birds not returning after getting a good feed,, I think because they are locked in other lofts, that's what I think we are all entitled to what we think , and that's what I think, not every single bird wont be in other lofts , but yes they are people not reporting birds...
bibendium Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 If that were the case why are the birds not returning after getting a good feed,, I think because they are locked in other lofts, that's what I think we are all entitled to what we think , and that's what I think, not every single bird wont be in other lofts , but yes they are people not reporting birds... Aye thats right , between Ayshire Lanarkshire & Glasgow alone ther must be over 3000 birds missing and thats not counting The otherside of the country who also had teriible losses so all those birds are locked in imaginary lofts some where get a grip man. expletive remove. most will perish , eaten by bop , crows , seagulls foxes etc etc.
Happyflyer Posted July 31, 2019 Author Report Posted July 31, 2019 Said some a the birds no them all ya clown n you get a grip read what a said, some birds..
bibendium Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 Said some a the birds no them all ya clown n you get a grip read what a said, some birds.. Your words not mine , whose the clown ???? I think because they are locked in other lofts
Roland Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 Simply many don't/won't report because of the countless times they heard hard luck stories, or don't want it back. Many say 'Can you send it up the road after a few days … should clear. Many do just that any way. Others sadly cull it saying, If no good for me I'm doing the fancier a favour'. Plus so many now can just about afford to keep / race pigeons … but can't afford to lose them. J.M.O experiences.
jakie Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 if you were darkened and flogged down the road .would you go back ?
Happyflyer Posted July 31, 2019 Author Report Posted July 31, 2019 Your words not mine , whose the clown ???? I think because they are locked in other loftsand I will still believe people will get birds in and not report them..
eastcoaster Posted July 31, 2019 Report Posted July 31, 2019 Why why would anyone want all these super lost birds for them selves if they can't get home to their home lofts"???????
Roland Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 if you were darkened and flogged down the road .would you go back ? And for those that treat as 'Humans'. When you were 19 or so trying to sow your seeds, what would you think if teased every week and then banish and sent up the road 2 or n3 hundred miles.... Park up at the nearest town dwelling where life would be a bliss most likely :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: lol
jakie Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 not a clue what your on about mate,as usual, why dont you just spit it out ?why so cryptic ??
jakie Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 if you think darkening then flogging is the way to go, then, just say that.
