Mattydoos79
Hi silly question is my family would like a kitten in the house so I’m wondering would the cat harm the pigeons outside if they are brought up along with birds? Would help with catching mice though lol
Bryngwynt Lofts
Hi silly question is my family would like a kitten in the house so I’m wondering would the cat harm the pigeons outside if they are brought up along with birds? Would help with catching mice though lol Never had a problem when they were kittens, then brought up with the pigeons. They even go in the corridor in the loft, birds don’t even take notice of them (part of life to them now)Certainly help with the mice etc as well. Kyleakin Lofts
My cat keeps other cats out of the garden when he is out. He does go up to the loft, but knows he's not allowed and leaves quickly if I am around. I wouldn't trust him though. A cat's instinct is to hunt. paddymac
As long as their brought up with the birds from being a kitten there should be no problems, just like certain dog breeds that cant be trusted around the birds unless brought up with them from the puppy stage. billt
My concern with having cats around pigeons is you're teaching them that cats are ok which is not a good thing if they go down when racing.
Mattydoos79
Well I think we can manage with a cat my loft is always shut if the cat be outside but I can teach them when it’s young, also keeping other cats out is bonus. Also pigeons will still be jumpy when they are racing
