Great trip, well fed & watered. Only the liberation was suspect turning us out in Blackpool in the fog. Though I do believe we still got 100% returns.

Couple of points, sparrowhawks can and do hover. The male will take pigeons, Ive had one. Sadly yes they seem to have started earlier this year. I've had 3 attacks in the last 7 days.

Yes agree nobody wants the job. North of Scotland waited till later and had very good returns by the sound of things. Sometimes think everyone is in too big a hurry to get birds up as early as poss. especially in these short races.

Another one back from St Boswell. Very thin but sure he's learned a lot this week.

Quite a few tired looking racers sitting around Stonehaven harbour area this evening.Thats unusual even after a liberation. Couldn't get close enough to see their ring. Can confirm thick fog in our area Saturday afternoon/evening, also very strong south winds yesterday.

Saw kits of birds heading south at Stonehaven at about 10:30. Going at a good rate despite the weather, overcast & light rain all day. Thought it was safe enough to let my youngsters out as nobody would release up here today. Whoops.

You've obviously never seen a transporter with staggered lib times. Its not pretty, the birds that are left go mental. Try it yourself with a couple of baskets then multiply that by 50 or 60.

I wouldn't be so sure. Theres another one on youtube, again sparrowhawk drowning a pigeon. Different video altogether.
