  1. I reported it too. Should have been removed a lot sooner.
  2. If there are they should check out lost and found.
  3. So there is hope yet then. I opened the box late afternoon as I did,nt want the cock to scalp the hen while I was,nt there to stop him. Will leave it open and see what happens. Will move the other pair into the young bird section tommorrow and wait it out. Cheers
  4. Paired up today. 7 pairs went down easily enough. Having probs with 2 pairs. Pair 1 is a yearling cock. Not sure of age of hen. Cock started driving hen, then started pecking her head quite ferociously. Tried a partition in the box and tried letting them out in the loft on their own. Still no joy. Pair 2 is a 6 year old cock purchased in december. Hen is an 06 latebred. They do nothing! They both just sit there minding their own business. Neither cocks are broke to the loft so cant give them an open loft. Any ideas?
  5. I agree. The lofts look to be in very good condition and very smart. Don't change your set up just for the sake of it. Your pigeon could'nt give a monkeys if the roof is covered with felt or tiles, just as long as its waterproof.
  6. nice looking bird crazy
  7. No worries
  8. Hope you get her back mate.
  9. Thanks for the update Mac. No rush as far as I,m concerned. I,m not pairing up till Wednesday. All the best.
  10. When are the markets held then?
  11. Deffra say that you can still import pigeons from places such as liers market under general licence as long as you comply fully with the conditions of that licence.
  12. I have an account with Amtrak. They are useless. Used the online booking system twice. The first time head office never passed the order onto the collecting depot. The seller boxed up the birds and left them for collection like he always does, only to find the birds still there when he came home. Got an invoice for £30. Second time went ok, but got an invoice for £28.73 Blooming useless!
  13. Any one been to liers market? Is it worth the trip? How often is it held? Cant seem to find any info.
  14. The pied hen is an absolute cracker
  15. If your trying to break a new purchase put it in a cage and place it on the loft roof for an hour at a time for 7 days. This will give your birds a 360 degree view of the lofts surroundings. When your ready to take the plunge let the bird out late in the afternoon after your other birds have landed from their afternoon fly. Shortly afterwards call all your birds in for feeding. Let the new purchase out only in the afternoons for a few days untill they,ve had a few fly rounds then let them out as normal with the rest of the birds. You will still lose a small percentage of birds but the number is greatly reduced as oppposed to just letting them out.
  16. Wiley is right. The cock birds should be allowed to choose their boxes well before you introduce the hens . This gets all the fighting among 2 cocks for 1 box out of the way before the hens are introduced. Then the hens should be shut in with the cocks. Let the pairs out 1 at a time, increasing the number of pairs let out, untill you are confident that all pairs are settled to their box. You do not want pairs fighting when you have eggs.
  17. Good looking pigeons but certainly not rare. Most of us have lofts full of chequers.
  18. Are you sure? !!!!!! That would mean my little 12 foot loft could take 432 birds. I dont think so do you? 1 square foot floor space maybe.
  19. cheers. I,m at Focus tommorow so I,ll take alook.
  20. The red pied is a cracker
  21. what currency is that?
  22. Thanks guys for the advice. Loft is emulsioned but wasn't sure if it would work as well on chipboard or just soak in. Like the idea of the iron on trim for the sawn edges. Tammy, theres nothing wrong with chipboard. Yes its cheaper than plywood and other materials, but at the end of the day the boxes serve the purpose just as well as expensive ones.
  23. Just bought some cheap chipboard nestboxes. Would like to seal the surfaces and edges but not sure what to use. Any ideas?
  24. and maybe some photo's?
  25. That is a nice looking bird. I,m rather fond of grizzles.
