    COD LIVER OIL

Pigeon man i went into my stock loft one day last year and one of my stock hens was very wobbly on her feet,She could just say walk and fly, this happend from one day to the next. This hen was in between laying eggs.Anyway i took this hen to a very good flyer and he sent me to the chemist for some calcium tablets.I gave her a tablet for three days and she was rite as rain.
  6. Hi i have been told once the race team (old/young) have had there traning toss darken them off slightly with curtains etc.Does anyone darken there lofts during the week..All info is good info...thanks people
  7. Stucky 1 They cant all be good mate,if you read above ashley has just introduced m & d evans to his loft and topped the combine with them,a life times achievment.Does that not tell you they sell good birds?.

    Peanuts

Snowy a freind and good flyer told me he stopped feeding peanuts for one youngbird season and these youngbirds never ate them in the future seasons but the ones that always got peanuts love them. I always treat my birds to a few peanuts a few days before the race.my stock get a treat now and then also.
  10. Ashley so you topped the combine with your new m&d evans birds.Well done,so where yous racing youngbirds from them.

    my loft

Your dads old shed, must have been some shed, very nice loft i must say. Wheres the doors, does it just have latted doors.
  12. If my birds havnt been fed for 24 hours the dropping get loose so it must have something to do with missing a meal and the fact they have a to fly home burning energy, the droopings stay wet until the next day after a race.
  13. Snowy get yourself some sitters and float the eggs under them its much quicker if you want to breed more.
  14. Yes great idea about getting our birds up for all to see. What classes should we put up and shouldnt this be in the photos section. As for a judge couldnt the webmaster put up a voting system where we all vote for our best choices but not aloud to vote for your own.i have seen this on other forums.
  15. Thanks for that bruno,so i could be using salt for nothing at all really. Like shadow said if a bird is conditioned rite it will try its best.A very good flyer by the name of willy brennan of graham, gilchrist and brennan once told me he used to have all the products but when he stopped using them the birds still came as good so he stopped wasting money in his eyes.
  16. Wings i found it very hard when i lost that blue & white cock my first ever winner he was.But a good flyer told me you must send the best to beat the best.
  17. Hi im trying to build my website into a better site and im looking for some photos to add to my website. Here the gallery link http://www.oddfellowspigeons.co.uk/photogallery/index.php If anyone would like there photos of there lofts, birds etc adding to my sites photos gallery please email me or send the pics to oddfellows@hotmail.co.uk. thanks carl
  18. Thanks bruno, yes your rite mate hunny & salt = cheap electrolytes.Bruno during the birds flying time do they lose salt from there bodys somehow if so how.
  19. Bruno i have never used electrolytes since starting 2 years ago and had some good sucsess in racing,on return from the race my birds get a teaspoon of pure rock salt (sea salt) and a teaspoon of good quality hunny mixed into a three ltr drinker. Hyachinth i have also been told to take the grit out after wedensday not sure why but i do.
  20. Snowy i pair up early january and seems to work fine.
  21. Could you not link the old forum up somehow anyway for us to view all the posts?.I learnt alot from that forum over the last year or two..
  22. Sorry to ask this again but why was the forum changed anyway.I thought the first forum was excellent anyway.we have lost some good post by losing that forum.
  23. £1.49 ya joking, get down to asda.79p. I use cider vinger 2/3 times a week, apparently it keep respitory at bay and has other benifits. It smells nice anyway..
