  7. Thanks ray theres one i aint heard before. What does the nettles have in them to do the birds any good.
  8. i was 27 when i started and started with a loft full of birds.(in at the deep end). me and my younger brother are the only ones in my whole family that has pigeons, none of my parents or granparents kept pigeons.Hopefully i can pass my hobby down to my children and my grandchildren. My son is three years old and looks good with a scraper in his hand.

    Lofts

Its not what i like because i would love to have a loft in the back garden, but flying from the allotments is the only way i can fly as my garden is next door to a church and wouldnt get a very good drop..I do plan on flying the channel (long distance) from my garden in the future.
  10. Ray,tea made from stinging nettles what does it do as i have plenty of them at my lofts believe me.How do you do it and has anyone else done this
  11. When you say pellets, what kind of pellets ?
  12. shadow whats your cost if ya dont mind me asking
  13. our birdage in my club is now £1 a bird and we have the option of pooling to a extra £1,thats before we pool in the fed.If i wanted to send a bird fully pooled would be. £1 a bird £1 fully pooled fed nom 10p, ford 2 bird club I think is 50p and the club star is 50p = £3.10
  14. Well i wanted to vote for two of the above, bad sportsmanship and costs are too high.If i wanted to send 30 birds to a race it would cost me say £40 a week, thats before the cost of feeding them treatments, training them etc.I worked out i was spending £250 a month or more on my birds during the racing season and thats without my club fees.Luckly i work, some people dont.
  15. I have noticed when they are sitting nice and tight if you get a bit close there wings start to tritch before they lash out.Like bruno said a warning to the intruder.
  16. yes i agree and thanks

    sand

martin i dont use sand at all just scrape out everyday is all i do.I dont spray anything down or use loft white unless i spill a drinker or so.Starting next year i will have my stock birds on deep litter to see for myself if its better or not,i will use horse dressing for the lofts starting when i start to breed.
  19. Got to say bird no 10s photo is top notch.Very professional i think and the bird looks very nice.Well done to all that entered.I missed this one but will enter the next class.
