  7. I know this aint about racing pigeons but would love some info on this if anyone could help. Not so long ago my three yearold son (cameron)came down with food poisoning. When tested by the doctor and hospital, it came back he had a bug called..Not sure as to spell it. campilabacta bacteria (or) campo bio lacta bacteria..(something on them lines). Anyway we were told this was quiet rare and we even had the environmental health come to our home asking what cameron had been eating/drinking etc to find out where he had caught this from. The enviromental health officer said it from uncooked meat or a dairy product.?. Then i clicked on i had given cameron a live yoghurt along the loft a few days before he was bad. When i checked the live yoghurts date it was a month out of date. my mistake my son was ill,be carefull..

  12. Well funny ya might say that speight. This year from clermont 420 miles to my club,I had nothing to send to this distance but did have my eyes on two birds (nestmates)in the loft that were coming rubbish and was thinking about getting rid of them.So rather than cull them i sent them to clermont. They came 3rd & 5th club and 13th & 21st fed, beating alot of good channel flyers in our club.I end up 3rd channel average this season, crazy

  17. yes was thinking of trying the g10s myself they sound good for the birds.
  18. My older birds are almost through there moult, most on the last flight.I will start and add barley to the mix now, getting it up to 50% barley 50% full mix.Hopefully this will get the weight off them for breeding. My birds will now be treated for canker, cocci, worms, respitory before pairing.

    Lofts

Well in my area i would say most fly from an allotment and the best flyers in our section (section 4 unc) fly from allotments.i would say only 5% fly from there back gardens.I dont see the back yard flyer have a advantage over the allotment flyers at all.The only down side to flying from an allotment is getting the birds out on there own,its impossible on our site.

    Peanuts

speight i have peanuts in my loft coat pocket most times when im cleaning out etc,im always teasing the birds with them letting them fight over them etc.The birds know that i have them and this motavates the birds everytime i enter the lofts. Some of the tame birds are constantly at me trying to get there treat.I dont give too many this time of year but when breeding starts i will mix them with the corn.
  21. Speight thanks for that. There was a fair on the site well they should just say that and not be so blunt on the lib line i think.
  22. Very very nice birds i must say.Excellent photos and birds are in top condition. Some info on the old mealy there ray.
