Be ever so cautious with Parkhall lofts !! I have one that constantly lets in from the roof . The mineral felt was put on by parkhall in the rain and it warped ..My loft gets soaking in the corners at either end of the loft .. It is 28ft X 8ft and cost me £2400.00 ...4 sections .. I am raising the loft , and having to re-roof it at the end of september . My corridor gets wetter every time it rains ..as more rain falls ,the felt gets more brittle . I have just had a 12x 6 stock shed and aviary erected with the help from friends from this forum and it's the dogs B******S. Cost me next to Now't and it is not an eyesore either ! You could spend a lot more sensible than go to these people and pay a fortune for something an ordinary man could build in a weekend for half a days wages .. Just my opinion. DAVID

Hi Mate .. I visited John crowder a couple of months ago along with my good mate Black white/flight from this forum.. The birds looked like the real deal ,we saw various lines and types of birds ..I did not handle them but my mate did He will give you the honest truth about these birds as he came away with a couple ...I am sure when he comes on line he will give you the details. You can't go wrong with John Crowder's birds and that,s for sure . DAVID

I am going to put a cat amongst the pigeons here with this post but no insults intended .. The pictures of the loft post was cracking and some stunners amongst them, no doubt about that !! C'mon now , give us some picture of lofts where birds have to break from the batch a good 40 min's from home to even think about getting in the frame . Some real wild type settings in obscurity ...off the map so to speak ! Not 400 birds into a town centre and 30 fanciers all timing in ...I will try and get my pics up when the wife gets in ,but it's not a pretty sight. Cheers Guys. DAVID

Mr Masson . I fly in the Inverurie club and am a novice of a couple of seasons .Ihave no credentials as such to talk about ,neither do i know you well enough to make slanderous remarks to you . I know you can fly an extremely good pigeon ,so on this fact alone your credentials preceed you. My season was no less than turbulant to say the least along with lot's of others ,i experienced massive losses early doors. My young-bird season was almost put on a halt because of a pasturella infection in my young race team caused by mice... I was not unduly worried as this years young bird race programme that had been put together (and may i say brilliant for the novice fancier) was in all intents and purposes going to help all new fanciers and people in the same position as myself out .I have not yet raced a youngster and was looking forward to brechin this week . I was somewhat perplexed at hearing the change of race venue as i have had no information on this amendment .As far as i am aware neither have my flying colleagues . Mr Masson ,It is good that many members are up and running in the young bird season but if you can find a little bit of sympathy for fanciers like myself, and i know of a dozen more in my shoes ,then please give us a Brechin for the benefit of giving us a chance to compete, I am sure you will see the position that this change of race venue will find many of us in.I would ask all fanciers who probed you for this change to reconsider also. As i highlighted before, this programme was put together for the benefits of our young birds, and brilliant it was too. Please let us keep it this way .You were a new starter once . Regards DAVID.H .

Dont!!! DONT!!! DONT!!! This was the advice i was given by my vet who had naseline tested .Their was an acid component prevalent that would destroy fine membrane tissue of the nasel tract ..The birds would not recover after prolonged use of this stuff . I bought it in good faith some 4 years ago when starting up as i thought i needed all this garbage ...but being me did not take it at face value I had it tested .Cost me £70.00 to get tested . The source i got it from is well out of business for crookery and good enough too... On your head be it.Good luck DAVID

Taylorsloft .. Sounds like you have the goods ! This is the debate . They seem to be coming well up here Grampian ,Aberdeen,...but i am a little perplexed as to why in the west country( bristol&somerset) they are not such achievers? . I am reminded of the aclimatisation period for new family's to cultivate themselves to the said area....give them time i was told . I am wondering who races these lines with very good success?? I thought stuart may know ? DAVID

I noted a post that stuart wilcox placed regards vandenbeeles perhaps not holding there own in the somerset bristol area (southwest in general) Is anybody doing very well with them down there (fed level) ? If not are they racing better crossed . Up here in the grampians they seem to hold their own ... Jimbo from this forum has some belters .. If you read this stuart i would be very interested to know just how they performed for you when you raced them.Do you still house them ?? I certainly get a better race from them when they are crossed out . Those that came well and were not crosses were 2 yrs old..As yearlings you had to question the abilitys of them .Do they need time?? David

The boys on the continent are using these tabs on basketing night with an expected holdover ..and i believe some of the channel boys down south use these for that reason too . I am led to believe they provide a slower less abrasive treatment for canker ,and cocci, also crop slime ...hence, the using them for basketing ,. A preventative measure rather than a cure is the main reason for use (this is what i have heard and not what i know) DAVID
