Yesterday was the Algarve Great Derby OLR, today is the Golden Race Algarve OLR... two separate one loft races with the Final races being flown the same weekend
Well done Dave Baldie, St.Andrews winning 1st Section C, 2nd Open... what a gallant young cock, flying over 77 miles further than the winner, and also flying further than every pigeon timed on the day of liberation, what an end to a dream season!
cracker timed by Dave Baldie tonight at 4.33pm... came like a rocket and was racing all the way to the loft, awesome performance from a young pigeon that as covered a lot of miles on his own obviously...
good idea for a massive organistaion like the UNC, but for smaller organsiations there is the cost of equipment etc to think about, and its not all convoyers of a technical mind to carry out such a task, then you have the same old problem of who is going to carry out the job at this end... besides once the doos are in the air a video wont prevent bad racing or a peregrine strike... just my thoughts, yet another job within a diminishing membership.
was thinking same, forecast I seen looked good for a race, not perfect but good enough... time will tell, still a norther tomorrow so will still be a tester, but an extra night in basket not what we were looking for...
we race from Dave's loft now, only breeders at my address... working out better for both of us as the results prove. good luck for tomorrow and lets hope it is a better day for them.
