yes but will give a more acurate loft position =was told that some lofts where checked as an experiment and found to be quite a way out.so the nehu are busy checking things out.
-
try rob shield in the back of this weeks homing world you wont go wrong he is moveing loft position and he is a genuine pigeon man.
-
nehu use the same but as of 2012 we are hopeing to be recalculated by gps so all the nehu lofts will have a more acurate measurement

TAM-our club has the same unikon and bricon, use the unikon ringer but disconnect the unikon clock if you are registering birds on the bricon speedy clock with the unives lead.when you do it this way on a friday night you will find that the race points on the speedy are race1 or race2 etc so befor you basket tell the bricon lads to [at home]connect the power lead into the speedy -scroll along to race and then alter race 1 and useing the clock keys put in an abbreviation in just like texting on your mobile its simple then repeat for race 2 etc.after you have basketed on friday night and ask the speedy to print you will find out that it will only print 2 copies so after it has printed go back in as if you had another pigeon to add then straight back out and print and you will get another 2 copies -easy as pie. printers--------you need a printer that has paralel port .if you only have a usb printer then you need a pc to operate it and this is not allowed to have a pc connected . inkjet is too unreliable -----dot matrix is slow but reliable and can be run off a 12volt inverter if you dont have mains electric on basket night. but if you have mains electric then a laser printer is fast and reliable but bulky remember it must be paralel port printer.

all loft positions must be looked at on its merits and the weather on race day taken into account-the reason i say this is because i fly on the top of the highest point in the north east and if the birds are flying into a head wind and are low the first drop birds trap and mine have to start climbing -but on a good day the bids can be in the heavens and being on top of a hill doesnt seem to matter.raceing on a midweek with only 12 members 6 bird limit then a small bunch are liberated and flyers out west do do well on an east wind but when the wind turns they rarely score so wind does play its part. pigeons have astounded people in the past and will still do so in the future. but i win every week untill i go to the club but in that hour untill i go i feel great that my birds homed and love it if when i go to the club i have full returns-if this stops i will pack it in but this year i have an added interest as the first grandbairn has started to take an interest in grandads pigeons.

paired up early, went down well apart from one hen that broke both legs in 2010 [might have damaged herself inside ]-swaped some eggs and set them away again and have now layed again ,will start to ring the first round tommorow.looks like the wheatgerm did the trick. We only keep a few but prefer early young .will plan for young bird breeder buyers and be able to send the best as i will have what i want already off my best pairs.worth sending to some of these as they pay out a lot ,one to look out for is wrekonton or wrekington[spelling] payed out over 4000 last year, all you need is a bit luck. hope all your pairs take well and all their eggs are full.

town and country planning changed in 2008 [not sure about scotland]by the government not a piddling pen pusher at your local council,if you own your property you have a lot of rights that do not require you to put in planning permision google for same it might suprise you and also if the guy next door decides to build a conservatory within size limitations he doesnt need it either-things all changer in 2008.

well 2010 old birds went ok for me won a little lost a lot thats normal for me ,but i love young bird flying and in 2010 i tried the lightness system but would not recommend it to anyone-racing young with the wing flights out in various places ,even on the last 3 with only moderate success [done better in other years]but did have young birds with a full wing for the last 2 races plus the open race but didnt win any of these.so hope these young birds are ok as yearlings -lost very few tho even got 9 out of ten from lillers young bird open race last one reported in bristol wrong side of country. so back to the darkness system for 2011 and try not to feed my old birds too much as they home well but not quick enough.

i have used nest liners for 3 years and always use the type made from coconut husks -i never reuse but dispose of them after one nest, better than cleaning out nest bowls in the usual way. when i use these linners the birds are given access to treated straw from the pet shop and they build on top of the linner, one thing i have noticed is that when i use this method and you lift the nest bowl up there is no moisture under the bowls, so the linners let the nest breath. the way i look at it is to pay a little you may give the youngsters a healthy start in life which is worth a lot to me ,but if you want it cheap and it suits you and your happy well thats ok. all my birds are treat with one spot while the majority are sitting eggs and are also sprayed [belt and braces] never used tobacco stalks but have been recomended them by a few fanciers but never tried them.
