  1. Yeh sure you are "so important" to the doos in Scotland that the committee of the SNFC would deliberately find out when you were going on holiday and "tactically" change the date of the AGM TO STOP YOU ATTENDING!! Paranoid or what?
  2. This is a meaningless rule and would not stop anyone selling off their birds and keeping going.
  3. Cabbage water is excellent for cooking cabbage but personally if you want my advice give it a miss with the doos. if you want you can alwas give them a few leaves they will eat it if they need it
  4. Nothing new there then bigda sounds like standard Lanarkshire Fed to "me" - perhaps Vincey's "Granny" was not the right age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    SNFC /RPRA

This has been explained before many times but for those that are a little dim I will explain it one more time. The members of the SNFC who were no longer members of the SHU were barred from remaining members of the SNFC by the SNFC own rules. Therefore they should not have been debt suspended as it was the SNFC that stopped them being members of the club. Now surely to goodness that is not too difficult to understand Homer unless you are suggesting people should be forced to pay membership fees for a club they are no longer allowed to be members of?
  6. No one has a clue what is wrong with the bird but everyone says dispose of it? Safe rather than sorry is a good tack to take but as you seem to have away to isolate it to prevent any damage to your own birds and the bird is not yours having ago might just teach you something for the future if you have to try and help one of your own birds. Getting it to drink plenty with glucose is a must but just as importantl keep it warm tonight if at all possible. The poor wee sowl obviously has nothing less to give and keeping it warm will definetly help. If it is actually interested in eating a little decent wheat would be my choice. Best of luck.
  7. The fact that all the pertinent posts on this thread about the welfare of extremely young pigeons have been deleted by the webmaster tells you all you have to know about this forum. Sad and dictatorial in the extreme. Goodbye.
  8. Ronidazole? certainly would not do any harm!
  9. All the best to all the Midland Fed young birds battleing up the road this weekend hope they doo better than usual at this time of year and dodge a few hawks and get up the road safe and sound! Lets all remember smart ass fanciers winning lots of money in open races is not the most important thing about the birds! People loving pigeons and enjoying their efforts is!
  10. Aye right then!
  11. Which Glasgow fed club are you a member of ReddyYellow?
  12. "me" I felt fantastic (I think? it was a long time ago)
  13. Won't be 0.2p if they are not cost effective to make at that price oldyellow!
  14. All the best I am sure you will get a few thrills from your birds from a few inland races. Feel free to pm "me" for advice if you ever want to try long distance racing. And what I said was look after them and love them NOT MOLLYCODDLE THEM, don't put words into my mouth I am quite capable of speaking for myself.
  15. We were all novices once so you are right no shame. I am trying to give advice and be honest, no one has to take my advice but it is given with the best of intentions.
  16. Yes they do now old yellow but what about in 5 or 10 years time? Race rubbers are race rubbers end of story, if you can't afford to put a "rubber" on your doo without worring about the cost its time to pack it in I'm afraid.
  17. EH?
  18. To be honest you don't sound like a dooman to "me" at all. Its not something to feel bad about some people go through their whole lives keeping and enjoying their pigeons without ever being "doomen". Enjoy your birds and love them you'll find the more you do the more you will get out of them even if you never get to the heights you dreamed of getting to when you started. Not everyone is successful but their birds still need to looked after. All the best.
  19. i AM AFRAID STAN THE BIRD SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISQUALIFIED SUBJECT CLOSED NOW!
  20. In my own humble opinion I was privileged to be gifted (as in "you have reported this bird would you like to keep it") and subsequently own and race one of the best "strays" in the country. Luckily for the bird in question I knew a good doo when I saw it and their were obvious mitagating circumstances that I will not go into that made "me" answer the owners question "yes I would". One of the best racers I ever owned, so please don't think I am suggesting some birds are not worth a second chance. That is not the point I am making. For those who find it difficult to see the woods for the trees, in the not so distant future, fanciers whose birds use "normal" race rubbers will (per bird per race) be paying more to race their doos than people whose birds have ets. Think about it!
  21. Not been cheeky but I presume you are a novice. Some owners would not know a good doo if it flew in their face. On the other hand some "owners" would know and be capable, as I said earlier of making an "informed" decision. Try and listen and learn by other peoples mistakes its the smart way to do it. Trust "me".
  22. Pleased to see you are "sort of" contradicting what you said earlier oldyellow and agreeing with "me" good doos fly straight up the road and don't drop off for "a helping hand" on the way. Race "rubbers" are just that, race rubbers and should be treated with the same respect they alwas have been. Best of luck with your doos this weekend if you are lucky enough to get a race.
  23. No, indeed I alwas discard rubbers I have removed from birds that are not capable of flying home under their own steam, its only fair to the owners of such poor specimens. Most sensible fanciers appreciate its a small price to pay to learn that a particular bird is not worth its perch. That is why so many strays are on the go, birds that are not capable of flying home are mollycoddled home through stray baskets and who knows what. Was not like that in the old days and funnily enough everyone used to finish the season with only one or two losses. Think about it!
