One of the best partnerships ever in the N.L'Pool fed trains the same way old and ybirds. After the first few tosses they are then let go in 4's.For peace of mind a 30mls toss would do no harm but is not really necessary(just my opinion)

Heavy rain at the moment,with an east wind,looking bleak.

Damp,cloudy with a south west wind,the ybirds are at Penkridge 51mls for the 1st midweek race. Hopefully they will be liberated around 8-15am.

I race both cocks and hens but not on roundabout,I have found the hens need to be trained or raced midweek,the hens fly to their own loft and on a saturday trap to the cocks section. The hens have won 6-1st and the cocks only 4.The training/racing in my opinion stops the hens pairing.

A lot of fanciers give brewers yeast powder on return from a race because it is high in digestable protein,its usually sprinkled on a light feed ( depurative,gerry plus etc.) which has been covered in oil or lemom juice etc.

Racing only an inland programme,you don't tend to lose old birds,so still got the 12 pairs I started with,winning more than expected this season.
