Lanarkshire looking from the Motherwell area into Tinto the visibility is excellent and its only the temp which is a bit cold.

With Lanarkshire Fed at Kelso and with only 444 birds away from Newmains Club we will be lucky in the Fed to reach 4000 birds.With the weather and Baltic conditions the only chance i see them going tommorow is around 7.00am with Temp 6c NNE 9mph winds and good visibility which afterwords the winds are gusting to 20mph.Sunday much better weather Temp rising 11c with ESE 2mph winds but gusting to 16mph. Only time will tell and good luck to all who went including Wee Jock the Lums Laddie who is trying like a Bear to win the Hot Water Pond Open.

Kev You have done the right thing as to many pigeons (Overpopulation)in the loft causes problems with health.With what you have done and a good variety of clean feeding mixtures (without mites and fungus)which pigeons need, make all the difference to your season. Good Luck

Grasshopper Make sure its dry,draught free,well ventilated and facing south east if possible,this will create enough sun in the loft and make sure the materials you have used in the new loft dont give out any fumes. All the Best with your New Loft and your 2009 season. ;)

What are the most important aspects that you have learned and put into action over the last year to hopefuly better yourselve for the oncoming season for us which starts this Sat18th April with the Lanarkshire Fed from Kelso. We have addressed the Loft,Overpopulation,Preventive Vaccinations,PreventiveControls,Quality of the pigeons and our system and only time will tell.In every loft there are only a handfull of Good Ones but what is a good pigeon and as i have said before keep searching for better racing stock and dont buy Aged Stock Birds and keep away from the sales that are off-loading their Shi-e. :( All the Best on the oncoming season look forward to your comments. We have some cracking racers but at present we do not have a pre-potent pair.And the only way you will ever Know is by the Basket not the Auld Wifes Theory Eyesign.

Stuart What do you class as a good Stock Bird and how many winners would you expect in one season.With 6 out of your 8 pairs over the age of 7 they must be somthing special and good Luck on the Oncoming Season. ;) ;)If they are not paired up with Latebreds/Yearlings we have found out that they just dont survive ;)

Tractorboy Quality is priceless and the 2% of good stock pigeons are not for sale. I have asked previously if there is anyone who can sell a pre-potent pair i would by them provided they were under Five years old.Dont pay any more than you can afford and keep clear of older pigeons that are no good to their owner and certainaly no good to yourself. Youve Been Warned Dont buy Shi-e and remember the 98% Rule. :(

Would you sell them if they were any good.If they dont breed winners within four years with a couple of mates bin them dont sell them to try and get your money back.

How are the aged stock birds breeding, 5 year olds and upwards it will be interesting to see how many over the years are left.I see in this weeks pigeon press that they are still trying to ofload their Sh-te Full Brother to this Aunty to that and looking for a Kings Ransom.Remember the 98% rule dont buy anybody else,s Shi-e.If they were as good as they say, thae widna be selling and trying to Rob us. :o
